I think so. 5 rings that he HAD A PART IN GETTING Great defensively. . . While his career stats are not all world he is definately a VERY GOOD PLAYER [maybe a step below great] OK . . .maybe this is Rocket Homer ism but Who in the HALL would you compare him too? Who stands out in the Hall that you would think Horry is AS GOOD AS ? I'm just throwing this out there. Rocket River

Yeah, I'm pretty sure someone whose highest scoring season is a little over 12 ppg will not be in the HOF. If Rudy T's not in there, Horry shouldn't be in there.
Rudy isn't? He will be as a coach right? Also . . . the hall should be about more than Scoring Rocket River
I have a love/hate relationship with Horry. Back in the day, and I mean early, early in the day, I loved his scrappy d and thunderous dunks. Then, after we won the second title, Horry decided that he was a three-point specialist. He traded slashes to the hoops for spot-up threes. Sure, he could still crank up the d upon demand, but that's what it was, upon demand. One day he just stopped being a night-in, night-out kind of player. I'll always have a soft spot for #25. (screw this new-Coke #5 crap). That being said, Horry's career was a disappointment. As for rings #3 - 5, he didn't do any more than Rick Fox, really, and I doubt you'll be pushing Fox for the Hall. If Horry had the heart and desire of a Mario Elie, say, I really believe he could have been a five-time All-Star. Instead, he showed occasional flashes of brilliance, and leaves me wondering what might have been.
Sixers ....One of the greatest defenders in NBA history, Bobby Jones played eight of his 10 NBA seasons for the 76ers. He was named to the NBA's All-Defensive first team eight consecutive seasons from 1977-84 and was a second team selection in 1985. In 1983, he captured the NBA Sixth Man Award and helped lead the Sixers to the NBA championship. Jones played in the NBA All-Star Game on four occasions, twice as a member of the Denver Nuggets (1977 and 1978) and twice as a member of the Sixers (1981 and 1982). Jones, who was a first round draft choice (15th overall) of the Houston Rockets in the 1974 NBA Draft, began his professional career as a member of the ABA's Denver Nuggets. He was a member of the ABA All-Rookie team in 1985, an ABA All-Star in 1976 and a member of the ABA's All-Defensive Team in both 1975 and 1976. As a 76er, he totaled 6,585 points and 2,942 rebounds. He currently ranks third on the 76ers' all-time blocked shots list and owns the fourth best career field goal percentage in franchise history..... Bobby Jones isn't on the list of Hall of Fame members.
Of course I think Robert Horry should be in the Hall of Fame. Obviously. I look forward to watching Moochie Norris and Thomas "Two Sandwiches" Hamilton be inducted alongside him. Another great addition to the class would be Cynthia Cooper entering as a broadcaster.
If there was a Hall-of-Fame for role players, Bobby Horry would be first ballot. But since the Hall is for the greatest players in NBA History, I'm going to have to go with "no."
This was your six thousand, three hundred, and twenty-fourth post ? way to mark the occasion when you hit 7000 - maybe you can crack out the arguement that World B Free is a top 5 all timer ! Or that Billy Paultz was the GREATEST Rocket big man !
you are quite a joke besides. . . this is more entertaining than 1001 trade ideas . . . . sf or yao bashing threads So newbie. . . WELCOME TO THE POST SEASON OF CLUTCHCITY Mr Less than 300 Post Rocket River Bob 'BIG SHOT' Horry for the Hall!!! Screw whether he deserves it or not. FOR THE RECORD . . . . Will Rudy get in as a Coach?
I do agree that it is better than 500 trade posts, but I still think it is a silly statement on another note - I have had my current membership since Oct 2002 which is over a year and a half. But I have actaully been a member since 1999 myself (I had the account under an inactive email address and I forgot my password - so I just rejoned as Willis ! as for my "less than 300" posts - I know that I am not the only one on this board who checks it for news and information (and humor) - not to post every 15 minutes. In fact most of my 300 posts have been jokes (since I prefer to be "seen" and not "heard")
