The Original. Its amazing. I've never really seen it until now but I freaking love it to death. The Ray Charles, the Aretha Franklin, the Nazis, the Country Western Bar, the Cops, The Good Ol' Boys... The Jailhouse rock. What an epic comedy. I drank a lot of beers tonight, but I realized that Blues Brothers ROCKS THE MOTHER****IN CASBAH.
Not to mention Princess Leia as the stalker ex-girlfriend, and possibly the best chase scene in the world.

The best thing about this movie is how it gave a lift to the careers of James Brown, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin and John Lee Hooker at a time when blues, R&B and soul music was being overlooked.
You JUST saw this movie? Damn, I feel old. Seriously, I can literally recite this movie word-for-word from start to finish. "What kind of music you you play? Oh, we play BOTH kinds - Country AND Western!" <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/jYyBZE0kBtE&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/jYyBZE0kBtE&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Yeah well its an old movie man. Like 1980 and ****. I wasn't allowed to watch R rated movies until I was 16.
It's 106 miles to Chicago, we have a full tank of gas, half a packet of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses... HIT IT!
That was a few members of the great MG's (Booker T and MG's) in that band- Steve Cropper and Donald "Duck" Dunn. I loved the "Stand By Your Man" scene in the country bar. Cab Calloway was a badass, too.
I knew a hooker once named Minnie Mazola. Hi-dee-hi-dee-hi-dee-hiiiiiiii Sorry....embedding disabled for this one.
Which is ironic, because my father (and I'm sure a lot of others) would have plucked his eyes out before "wasting money" on an aminated or kid's movie. Alot more Chuck Norris, Charles Bronson, John Hughes and John Cusack than I probably needed at seven or eight. The only upside was seeing Basic Instinct at 13.
My three favorite lines: So, Jake, you're out, you're free, you're rehabilitated. What's next? What's happenin'? What you gonna do? You got the money you owe us, mo!@#$%? Did you get me my Cheez Wiz, boy? I ran out of gas. I, I had a flat tire. I didn't have enough money for cab fare. My tux didn't come back from the cleaners. An old friend came in from out of town. Someone stole my car. There was an earthquake. A terrible flood. Locusts. IT WASN'T MY FAULT, I SWEAR TO GOD.
Not to mention Lou Marini and Tom Malone (I don't care about Alan Reuben). Those are some seriously heavy horn players.
