http://twitter.com/blazerbanter Confirmed: Expetive-filled exchange at #Blazers practice was between Andre Miller and Nate McMillan. #NBA http://www.columbian.com/weblogs/blazerbanter/2010/jan/07/tempers-flare-todays-blazer-practice/
Miller is getting paid millions of dollars for his services. He needs to shut the (blank) up & do his job.
Has Miller always been like this or is being a cancer a new concept to him? I never got the impression he was like this pre-Portland.
Shocker...they sign a point guard who has to have his hands on the ball to pair up with Brandon Roy who has to handle the ball... what could possiblie go wrong (veiled simpsons reference)
They had been looking to move Blake and still might but Miller just hasn't fit in at all, if it wasn't for his contract he would be the odd man out.
It was just a bad signing for Portland, but they did get a trade-able asset. $7 mil for Andre Miller is actually not bad. His skills haven't really declined yet. His role and his minutes have made it seem like he isn't the same player. Also, Miller is more of a lone wolf, quiet, to-himself dude and it doesn't play in what is probably a close locker-room of younger players. Miller's a really good point guard, but they need more of a combo guard at the "1". Roy handles the ball so much there. Interesting to see how this might play out.
I don't think he's a cancer... though his reputation, as far as I know, is that he's know Mr. Sunshine, either (and frankly, neither is Nate McMillan... Nate's more of a "third Van Gundy brother" than a "player's coach.") Anyhow, my guess is that all the injury and the recent losing is getting everyone kind of depressed and touchy on that team.
No this is our opportunity to call Portland suggesting a three way trade for a team desperate for an Andre Miller type point guard and shipping Tracy out.... Wait, who the heck is gonna want either of the two? So this means Hedo would have fit even better than Miller? I doubt it, he plays with the ball in his hands on the perimeter as well.... The Blazers are so lost.
the only thing is Miller is no long range threat and is 33. The only team that would trade for him is a potential contender with no point guard. uh oh, lakers come to mind.
No because small forwards do not bring the ball up the court or initiate the offense. And it isn't logic...it's fact and a real reason why he hasn't been playing consistent minutes this year and why Roy killed the "three guard" experiment after only a few games (which they did win, however)
No offense but are you unfamiliar with how Turkeyglue plays? He needs the ball in his hands just as much as Roy does. The person responsible for initiating the offense is not 'married' to a particular position. For the same reasons Roy and Miller are clashing I think it's safe to assume that Roy/Turkeyglue would have done the same -- and that's all i'm saying. For a GM that's supposedly on Morey's level, that makes two of his top three FA choices potential busts.
You could be right...Hedo loves to create his own shots. But I think Miller was much more of a poor fit, which is a shame because he is a rock solid point guard who is MUCH better than Steve Blake (but not in Portland's system). Turk would have been a bad fit as well. I just think that Miller was a completely obvious bad fit. With Turkeyglue (I like that), you can just not run plays for him as much, whereas with Miller on the court, he is controlling the flow of the offense and does a lot of what Roy does. But yeah, their superstar GM isn't looking as good. Of course, everyone who always praises him also overlooks passing on Durant...which is up there with drafting Rodney McCray over Clyde Drexler
