The team is rebuilding with youth.

We just can't go out and force a player to want a trade here.

I'm ready for a young hungry coach.

I don't think I'll be upset either way, if Adelman stays or goes.

I admire his coaching ability and would love to have him back, but at the same time I don't know how well he's going to fit long term. Obviously, Morey and Adelman are not a perfect match. Morey is like this young IT manager bringing in all of this hardware with lots of potential, but Adelman is the project manager just using the same old stuff that he's comfortable with.

Perfect example was last night. Out of the playoff race, and Brad Miller is playing over Jordan Hill and Thabeet. That's just Adelman's way, and it's not going to change. Adelman is not as bad as JVG when it comes to playing young players, and it's good that he makes them earn it, but we are psuedo-rebuilding and going to have to give some young talent a shot.

Les is probably looking for a younger, more defensive minded HC that is flexible in his ways. I think that RA and Les do not see eye to eye on a lot of things, most likely the insistence on playing certain players, while not playing others. Since trading away Battier and AB only served to make RA shorten his rotations, I strongly suspect RA will not return. I will be very interested to see how an offseason filled with questions will spin out for the Rockets.

I felt Budenholzer was going to be the guy all along.

Anytime you hear Morey or Alexander (though that's a bit tricky, considering the only time he talked about coaching was during the Spurs game broadcast) talk about coaches they talk about how great the Spurs are, how well coached they are, how great Greg Popovic is, etc, so it sure wouldn't suprise me.

Richard Justice also tweeted a couple of weeks ago that the Rockets would most likely go with an assistant coach, someone like Budenholzer.

Be careful with the next great thing. Rockets have a great coach now IMO but Budenholzer could just as easily turn into Jim Clemmons (ex Mav's coach and Phil Jackson's protege) as Tom Thibodeau. D-Rose is an MVP candidate and J.Noah is an elite 7 foot defender that guards the paint and rim. The Rockets have neither of those.

He would do better be getting a seven foot center that can play defense and protect the rim then changing coaches.

I have a hard time believing Les isn't going to throw Rick out the door, seems somehow more awkward than JVG's exit (handled so very badly by Morey). Even Rudy T's "resignation" was short on respect.

I do believe he already knows exactly who he plans to hire. I'd be pleasantly surprised if it was Budenholzer.

I'll say this, I'm only putting this much stock into "inside scoops" from the likes of Blueberry and Justice.

    That's hardly a damning decision.

Budenholze sounds good for me, spurs fans want to him to be their head coach too in some days. At least next one is not larry brown, which is good news for me.

You're right, and I can't blame Adelman for not wanting to play the project players in his last couple of games of a contract year. It does him no benefit to play those players for 2 games.

But in reality, all of us and I'm sure Morey would prefer that Jordan Hill be logging heavy minutes, and at least get Thabeet on the floor.

    I want Rick back.

For every Tom Thibodeau there's going to be 10 Larry Drew's out there that fail.

If I were Rick, I'd start telling the Rockets to change their tune otherwise I'd have Pat Riley on speed dial for whenever Miami's offense stalls in the playoffs and Riles looks to bring in a veteran, "win now" coach.

Tom Thibodeau was ready. If you hire an assistant, he better be ready. Tom Thibodeau was overdue & I wish we had him back. Maybe Mario Elie?

We're probably going to know the out come of the coach dilemma pretty soon. Given that they'll want a head coach when they start the draft workouts, and the overall draft process.

I for one am hoping that they don't resign Rick Adelman, and go with a up and coming assistant coach, who puts emphasis on defense.
