I remember seeing that movie in high school, which friends I haven't met for years (but will meet up with next week). Man I feel old.

Anyhow, I have a feeling that the Rockets interior play will end up much better than people expect. Hayes has proved capable of giving the team 20+ productive minutes, Landry can remain efficient on the offensive end on on the boards given expanded opportunity and Andersen can come on strong later in the season.

"The highest scoring average for any active Rockets player in a pro league is 14 points. Shane Battier managed that in his rookie season in Memphis."

    Wow...

David Andersen averaged 14.8 during the '05-'06 season for CSKA Moscow. Ha! Take that!

... and Scola averaged about 15-16 PPG every year from '01-'06 in the Euroleague.

That is absolutely astonishing to me. I thought I knew every quirky little stat there is regarding our lack of offense, but that one didn't even cross my mind.

We could have a very balanced scoring team with 4 or 5 guys over 12ppg.

I'm pretty sure that will change after this year.

And I'm pretty sure the Rockets top 3 players based on career scoring average have the lowest career FGA averages out of all other team's top 3 players.

    The correlation is only natural.

    5 guys x 12 points = 60 points

at that rate we're going to need ~40 points off the bench to make it close to winning every night :( :(

I had to stop reading that because it was so painful. That guy can barely write, much less write a compelling basketball article. I don't think he understands what a sentence is.

Regarldess, yeah, it is obvious that nobody on the team has scored much before in the NBA - our team is either young or have had shots/minutes limited by either the Yao/McGrady combo or some other scorers.

I am not expecting much of anything standings-wise this year but I am still very much looking forward to the season. This will be a fascinating experiment about who can really step up and it will test the value of "the system" that Adelman loves to run. Let's see how good these young guys are and let's see how many games a great system (if they all buy in) can win in the NBA.

You have to keep in mind the source. Bleacher Report is mostly everyday people writing, if I understand correctly.

    Regardless it's just a discussion piece :)

Nah, it just means they'll have to play better defense.

Wasn't the best written sports report, but alot of what he said was true.

There will be challenges scoring this year, but as is the custom with this team, they will probably turn a few heads with the amount of success they have.

This Rockets teams has to go out and play hard every night for 48 minutes.....every player from top to bottom has to give it their all. Every player 1-5 has to rebound....it has to be a gang-rebounding effort.

The X-factor is, as always, the man known as Tracy McGrady (in b4 the hate btw :) )

We'll see what happens.......but in my honest opinion, I don't see playoffs with this current roster. Hopefully I'm proven wrong though.
