TRADE ACCEPTED Patterson is Demanding a Trade. This takes care of our problems. New Line Up Ming Davis Patterson Bonzi Steve That Line Up Rocks!
This team rocks better. Houston sends Cato/Mobley/E.Griffin to Indiana. Indiana sends Artest/Harrington/Tinsley/Ferry (expiring contract) to Houston. C: Ming/Stepania/Collier PF: Harrington/Taylor/Badiane SF: Artest/A.Griffin/Nachbar/Rice(IL)/Ferry(IL) SG: Francis/Piatkowski PG: Tinsley/Francis/Moochie(IL) With this trade, we get an extra $4.5 million in cap relief at the end of the year. Or, we can trade either Rice or Ferry to a team seeking cap relief, in exchange for a player we need, & still remain below the Luxury Tax. How'd you like to be in position to trade all of Rice's expiring contract for a solid player or a couple of quality role players to add depth? Cap space won't guarantee you get the best FA's, but expiring contracts will definitely get you some quality players in trades.
Dale Davis has to be at least 35 or so. He is the only real prize for us IMO. Patterson?? No thanks. McGinnis?? Would be nice to have as a backup, but the limited mins he would get doesn't offset giving up our starting SG and two backup bigmen. Wells would help offset the loss of Cat, but he comes with baggage just like Patterson. I pass.
I say it all the time b/c of threads like this... Cato was dumped by the Blazers several years back when he made about $1 million per year. Why in the hell would they want him at $7= million? They will never be so dumb as to take that guy back especially with what he makes. ps- I doubt either team is too interested in trading half of their roster if niether team is going to get much better.
