http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/sports_blog/2009/10/blake-griffin-nba-clippers.html LA Times Clippers update: Blake Griffin has stress fracture of knee October 26, 2009 | 10:03 pm Clippers rookie forward Blake Griffin, the No. 1 overall draft choice in the NBA draft in June, has a stress fracture of the left patella, or kneecap, and could miss as much as six weeks. Tests on Monday revealed the fracture and a second opinion later in the day backed up the conclusion of the first doctor. A Clipper spokesperson said it is a non-displaced fracture. But the team will take a conservative approach, meaning he could be out of action for the first 20 games or so of the NBA schedule. Griffin is also dealing with tendinitis of the left knee. He aggravated the injured knee in the team's final preseason game against New Orleans on Friday, wincing after he came down on a dunk. -- Lisa Dillman
Maybe he needs to take a page from Brandon Roy and chill on the theatrics. Only fly high and slam it home when necessary.
It's rather unfortunate... First Greg Oden, now Blake Griffin.. Blake Griffin has gone through a few injuries already, and the RS hasn't even officially started.. This one and a shoulder injury during summer league. I believe something else happened that held him out of the first few preseason games.. not sure though.
I can't wait to see Bill Simmons's reaction after that huge article he wrote a while back about the Clippers being cursed.
As a fan of the game of basketball, it sucks. This dude looked good at Oklahoma. Fron the few clippers highlights i saw, it looks like he belongs. Can't feel too bad because as a rocket fan, this is our story.
Damn!!! Bad news indeed. Could he become the second coming of Oden? Limitless potential limited by injuries. The last thing i want to see is him missing significant time due to injury and miss time developing into an allstar.
Is anybody else reminded of the white dude in Remember the Titans when they think of Blake Griffin or is it just me?
