    when he sits, we win.

His ISO, his too many shot attempts really hurt the Rockets.

I think Sura and AB are more of team players.

I do not think JJ is our leader, he is actually the blackhole!

JJ holds the ball a bit too long.

what we need with Yao and TMAC is either a lights out catch and shoot type player or a slasher type that brings energy. he is neither of those

Yeah because Ryan Bowen has been such a tremendous upgrade over our 3rd best player. Nevermind the fact that he can't even dribble with his head up, RYAN BOWEN IS THE ANSWER!

JJ's age is up there. JVG needs to reduce his minutes when he comes back.

I've been having a hard time figuring out this concern that JJ takes too many shots. Look, last night the Rockets got 60 from Yao and McGrady. No one else scored more than 5.

Jackson, like it or not, is our third best scoring option out there. He HAS to take more shots because we need his scoring to stay competitive. We have won the past couple games not because of his absense but in spite of it by playing great defense and T-Mac coming up with some miraculous shots.

JJ's field goal percentage is better than the combined field goal percentage of our two power forwards!

In an ideal situation, he doesn't hoist as many shots, but the only other option is to depend on Yao and T-Mac to score 30 a piece every night and that just isn't going to happen.

Good point. JJ is a nice player and the most consistent one we have had since he came year last season so I dont want to talk down about him. He is a good role-player but I have to agree with your post.

There is a reason why no team has ever made JJ a part of their long term plans...he does indeed hold the ball for too long, stall the offense, and take shots that a player of his caliber should not be taking. Even the Kings, the team with which he finally matured a bit, didn't feel like making it a priority to keep his services.

Bottom line is that while we do need more pure shooters from outside...JJ is just not a good enough of a shooter to offset the other deleterious aspects of his game. I'd rather take my chances with Bowen and allow more PT for the Suras and Barrets.

too early to say, people were making the same arguments that the pacers didn't need artest and o'neal in their first couple of wins, but look at em now.

We need JJ in there period and we need MoT to step up and hit a shot off the bench.

we have to have a third scorer, without him tmac and yao will have to go for 30 a piece every night

Really? Besides Boki (who is still unproven IMO) JJ is our best 3 point shooter! Look, the way I see it, this injury that he's been going through is a blessing in diguise. We loose his points and leadership, but at the same time, over the last 3 games, it forced T-Mac and Yao to step it up a notch in terms of their game but also as the floor leaders. In the last game (vs SAS) not one player besides Yao or T-Mac had more than 5 points. How long would you guys want to play like this for? Who would you rather have shoot an 18 footer, or better yet, an open trey?

Package any combo of him, Juwan, boki and draft picks for Stromile....whos is only avg. 23 minutes with the Grizz...he'd be the ideal fit for this team, a long, mobile, shot blocking PF who can guard just about any front court player...get it done...

Without JJ's Outside shooting, teams are playing collaps D on yao because they Know the Rox right now cant be Successfull from beyond the Arch. when he comes back, it will open up alot more space for yao in the low post to Operate in.

Swift cannot be traded until the offseason because his contract is one of those tender offer deals.

JJ has his share of problems, e.g., bad ball handling, slow defensive reaction, tried too much 1on1, but to say he is a "blackhole" is not fair.

Many people here get emotional too easily, especially after a bad loss. Yes, JJ took many shots, and missed many in some games. But you know what, those were the shots he should have taken. Eventually, the law of average will catch up, and he'll make his share.

JJ's problem is that he tried too hard to be a star on the court, this often resulted him holding the ball, did something he was not capable of doing, or he was not expected to do.

Yes, I think he is taking to many shot that belong to T-mac and Yao. Plus he is missing wide open 3Pts a lot this years. I think Boki or Bowen will do a better job at starting b/c they know their damn role!!!!

JJ is not shoting well this season and that has been of our problems. We surely need somebody with a most consistent shoot from outside. Right now, nobody in the team is providing that and that is why every team is double teaming Ming and TMac.

JVG should be fired and whoever comes as a coach needs to give Boki a real chance. Nobody in this league can show potential having so much presure from the coach.
