That's the only part that's disturbing I'd say, but it's very well done.

Now the movie is totally spoiled for me. I had no idea she turned into a ... black swan.

No kidding. I haven't seen the flick yet, but I'm not eager to after seeing that clip. I "see" enough psychopaths by perusing the BBS everyday. ;-)-

Very disturbing, but very good if you like that sort of thing.

Deck, what is that last symbol: a chin dimple, a flavor savor beard, or drool?

A goatee, Bob, which I've had since the mid-'60's. I put it after "Deck" when I rep someone and decided to use it in a post from time to time, as I've grown very tired of the emoticons we have.

LOL. Awesome. You have a flavor saver!

As long as it isn't the full "tailpipe," we can stay on speaking terms. :)

Interesting stuff. Without her dancing scenes, would Portman's acting be enough to justify the Oscar?

I think probably yes, but they should be honest about how much of the dancing is really her.

Also, the video in the OP has been stripped of all scenes showing head replacement during Portman's dance sequences.

I don't know how much acting skills it takes in a horror film. Usually you find *****ty actors making these horror films because it masks their inability to act. I think the director should get most of the credit for making this movie great.

Annette Bening should have got the Oscar, she was robbed.

If you saw the movie, you'd understand that the psychotic visions she has (which are not real) only make the movie that much more disturbing.

Portman deserved the Oscar hands down, incredible performance.

I'm sick of straight actors winning Oscars just because they play gay characters. Its right up there with actors winning Oscars just for playing mentally handicapped individuals.

Don't know if serious... of course, I know you're not. I think I know what you're saying with this, but I believe that the comparisons aren't close.

I haven't seen the movie and now I will, but by the looks of this, it appears that "acting like a gay character" takes a lot less preparation than "acting like a real ballerina", which takes years of practice and not just switching to allow another hairy dude to put it up my cornhole if I was to take up a gay role.

Portman may deserve acting recognition for the dramatic effect she brings to the screen as far as portraying a crazy ballerina off stage, but she should accept it wasn't her making the difficult dance scenes, but her double.

I think Portman should at least come out and say "Ms. Lane, you deserve lots of credit. I will give it to you whenever someone asks from now on," but she won't.

The real genius behind Black Swan is Aronofsky.

That guy has never made a movie that didn't have a profound effect on me.
