Is anybody looking for a very sweet black male kitten. It was found at a barn where some people thought it might work as a barncat. However, it is very timid (although has started to explore upon getting comfortable) and has a slight eye problem that might not make it a good mouser.

So, not wanting to take it back to the barn, I now have it for adoption.

He really likes to sit on your lap and I beleive he will get along with other outgoing cats. Being timid, however, it probably wouldnt be too good to put it with a domineering cat.

Anyway, respond in this thread if you want, or shoot me an email - it should work through the bbs board - if you feel like youll make a responsible cat owner.

Nobody wants a nice cat :(
We'd keep it but we already have four.

Four? HA HA HA HA!!! Lightweight! :)

Just kidding. There are some considerations...

CAPS - Citizens for Animal Protection

They have a weekend adoption program where you take the cat to the shelter on Friday and leave it all weekend. If it gets adopted, great. If not, you pick it up and go again the next weekend.

    Houston Homeless Pet Placement League

They do weekend adoptions at area Petco's. You have to act as the foster parent similar to CAPS.

    Special Pals

They might take the kitten especially after Christmas, but it is tough to get them in there.

    SPCA

A lot of people worry about animals being euthanized but I found out recently that since they moved into their new building, they have yet to euthanize an animal because they were not adopted or because of overcrowding. They will euthanize if the animal is sick, bites or if they have not been weened, but otherwise, they adopt all of them.
