    Didnt play the 4th quarter:

    3 TD passes

    297 yards

Heisman Trophy well within reach at this point.

Sorry... Im just sick of seeing UT football threads in the hangout. I know alot of ya'll went to, currently attend, or just like UT football, but we need another forum for it.......

    ;)

    blah blah blah

All I said was that Vincent Young looked really, really good.

Which he did, if you have a set of eyes.

Great thread, Tech looked great last night. Well atleast peformance wise, I'm not very thrilled about the new uniforms but theyll probaly grow on me. But BJ did play very well last night, hes been riding the pine for the majority of his career so thats going to help his transition from backup to starter. It was nice to see the boys whoop up SMU after last years scare. Everybody looked good, very good win.

Obviosuly Heisman for BJ is a long shot but I'll just say that hes going to put up huge #'s that can match any other QB in the nation. Leech's system + BJ's talent will equal heisman like numbers. But obviously the team is going to have to pull of several upsets along the way for him to even be slightly considered. But heck Kliff would have been strongly considered last year if they pulled just one more upset vs OU .(Ya i know it wasnt close but it was one game away, )

Tech shoud have an easy game again this weekend, the real test will come later in September vs NC State. They should have beaten them last year but just didnt happen. This year NC State plays Ohio State the week before Tech, which might help out Tech. Imagine if NC State upsets Ohio State than Tech upsets NCState, than I bet there will be some BJ heisman talk. Either way that game should show what kind of team we got in Lubbock this year. Keep up the Tech talk throughout the season, I defintely would be involved in any Tech football discusion.

Tech always seems to put together exciting teams, that can beat any team in the country on any given night (they remind me a little of the Cougars glory days). They are always fun to watch-- I think they have coolest uniforms in college football.

My stepmom is friends with BJ's folks and he is a good kid. My pops (who saw him play in HS) says he has a better arm than Kingsbury and Leach is going to be kicking himself in the ass this year wondering why he didnt play him sooner.

Great warmup game last night. I think we can go 9-3 this year.

What about A&M? I listened to the game on Internet Radio, and it sounded like the Aggies first game under Franchione was....well....the Aggies. The offensive line was still a weak spot, they had trouble in the red zone and had to settle for field goals, etc. Typical Aggie football problems. I'm sure they'll be making a lot of adjustments before the next game.

This isn't an aggies thread! Keep that crap out of here.

I was laughing my head off seeing them ahead 9-3 at halftime against Ark. St.

Good point Matador (long live the......).

Are you going up to Lubbock this year for any games? Im going to A&M, and Colorado. Will attend UT here in Austin and drive to Waco for the Baylor game. Should be goood.

Expect a weekly Red Raider thread from now on. Enough with the Ags and Horn threads..... ;)

I'm glad to see he's finally representing my high school right! He graduated the year before I did...Had a couple of classes with him during his senior year, it was amazing how many recruiters came to talk to him...

The biggest problem any Tech QB is going to have (besides not being good enough ;) ) is going to be the skepticism surrounding what many think of as a gimic offense.

I actually like pass happy offenses. I tend to prefer a little more balance than Tech has... but at least it's fun to watch, unlike certain other offenses that focus on grinding it out.

I don't think Symons is Heisman caliber. But I can imagine a truly great QB going to Tech because he likes their offense... then getting overlooked by the skeptics who seem to think that any unbalanced offense is somehow a sin against nature. In their zeal to avoid another Andre Ware, genuine contenders are going to get overlooked.

I think there's probably more Red Raider threads than Aggie threads....unless of course you count those recurring Aggie Bash threads.

I think with Henderson, Tech will try to run the ball more.

They rushed 21x vs SMU..I'd like to see that inscreace to at least 25x a game..Henderson ran 6x for 68 yards, his touches need to increase! He is a playmaker.

Your team has to be good to win the Heisman.

If I were a college QB, I'd rather NOT win the Heisman trophy
