I just heard him on the Dan Patrick Radio Show. Dan asked him about a few teams he thought would start to show their class and talent by starting to break away from the pack. Walton mentioned the Lakers with Shaq back, and the Kings with Webber and Bobby Jackson playing superbly, and his third team was the Rockets. He noted that with Francis and Ming starting to feed off of each other and the rest of our talent playing well together, that we could start to win a bunch more games.

Bill also said that Cuttino's injury really hurt us, and that with all of the time he'll be on the bench, he should learn how to dish the ball to Ming and his other teammates.

I hope in this case that Bill (and his Yao worship, which preceded the love we give Yao on this BBS) is correct. Of course we're going to lose some games but losing to Phoenix and the Paper Clips like we did (re: *choke*) hurts.

I love Bill Walton!! :) I mean, you can hate him for his commentary on NBC, but straight up, the guy is a very good basketball mind, and he's very complimentary towards the Rockets.

Walton loves teams that have talented big man. You noticed (if you remember) that he never had anything bad to say about Hakeem and always put hakeem up there with russel and wilt.

Does he see big things for yao? who knows...maybe. But the segments on espn called "walton's world" where he goes off and talks about random things he observes about the nba scares me. He looks like a crazy person during that segment. But i did like his comment about tom tolbert. It went something along the lines of:

Up until Griffin and Yao can give consistency to this team, this team will be on the verge of winning a lot of games.

The Suns and the Clippers loss hurt. The Sonics, Pacers, and Mavs all played better than the Rockets. This team should be 9-3 at this point.

But, Griffin has not been consistent. Yao figured out the league, then the league figured him out, sho the game goes on.n Up until, the Front court gets consistent, win steaks will be followed by losing steaks.

I'll quote Hakeem, there are no prophets in this room; so no one can say what the Rockets will do. Now, I'll quote Kenny Smith, the Rockets will lose a game, but when they want to. Because other than with a handfull of teams in the NBA, the Rockets should be beating the likes of the mediocre teams, ie. Suns and Clippers!!!
