Last year everybody knew that our biggest need was pg and pf. With Landry and scola playing so well, do we still need a pf? And with rafer playing awesome, do we still need a replacement? Overall, do our biggest needs change from last year, and if so what are they?
if we can get a star point well get him. but we need another sg/sf that can create off the dribble and score.
We just need a third scorer preferably from the SG/SF position. If we get a better scoring PG that would be nice as well. Our bench lack firepower outside of Landry, so that third scorer is all we need.
a possible sg/sf/pg that can score and drive and create shot or a back up c just incase if yao went down.
Rafer playing well? When? Oh, you mean his one hot streak a year....right..... Maybe he could work on extending that hot streak for an entire year and shoot over 40%? We need a new PG....SHEESH ! DD
1. An athletic 2/3, I would prefer to have someone that could move Shane to the bench. 2. An upgrade at point. 3. Back up center.
I desperately need a decent scoring (cutting type) sf. We could still survive with the current PGs (barely though) but chances are we will not get the ring with the current PG. We will may have difficulty in getting the ring without a decent back up C that is offensively capable even if Yao is healthy (I don't think Yao can play 40 min a game for the entire playoffs without some decent rest with all the physical play of playoffs). Deke is good but he offensively a liability.
1. Yao's and McGrady's health 2. A solid backup swingman 3. Either a better starting PG or a better backup PG 4. A good backup center The proverbial "3rd scorer" hopefully would come in either #2 or #3.
Biggest need is point guard. Imagine if Rafer playing well consistently. the Rockets would win 22 games in a row...
Backup SG/SF (someone who can swing both) or third scoring option (preferably SG/SF/C). Then backup center to save Yao. I love Scola, but Mike Miller is looking pretty good right now as a 6th man, with Landry starting (even though he has injury liabilities while Scola does not).
I like your thinking but I would add Baron Davis in there and I would say risk it and give up Scola for him if we could land him. In order of who I would go after for the right pieces. 1. Baron Davis 2. Ron Artest 3. Michael Redd Its hard to decide between Davis and Artest they both have there pros and cons however I feel that Baron has the heart and drive to win, the kind that KG also has, something we lack. On the other hand Ron Artest could be superb on both ends of the court, but with his mentality I put him second. For the right pieces i think we should be trying everyway possible to acquire one of these guys (in a decent deal).
