Stephen(berkeley): I'm somewhat intrigued that almost everyone is matching up the Lakers and Spurs when the Lakers and Rockets isn't even over. Are the "experts" pulling a Mcgrady?

Tom Tolbert: Lakers - Rockets is over, OK. This is not Pistons-Magic. It's the Lakers. They are champions. Save yourself the trouble. The series is over. Done. Finished. The Rockets are making plans for a nice big party tonight in L.A.

Sounds like they arent giving us any credit at all, even though we could of one 3 of the four games, and weve shown in the past we can come back ala rockets vs suns playoffs

That's what I said. The Spurs are the champions. It's like no one noticed.

Why anyone cares about what Toastbert has to say? THis is a guy made his name by spending more time calling the sports talk show than on the basketball court when he was with the Clippers. He couldn't even get play time with the Clippers.

That's not the first time I've heard the Lakers referred to as champions in this series. The other day, I think it was on 610, someone said the Lakers are the "defending champions" and the "team to beat". How about a little respect for the Spurs?

Shoot, the Lakers don't even have to WIN to be champions. Whoever wins the trophy this year will have to share it with LA. This is just absurd.

The word champion should never be used in reference to a team with Karl Malone on it.

the silver lining is that if the lakers go on to win this series they are going to run into a buzzsaw in the spurs. i don't think either the rox or the lakers can handle them.

Has anyone figured out why Tolbert is on T.V.? He may be even worse than Barkley. Charles is always goofing around. I want he and Kenny to talk about basketball (remember the game, Charles) not "eating soup with a fork" nonsense. Tolbert talks basketball, but never seems that insightful. Those three guys on ESPN FastBreak, I really like them. They know their stuff.

Does anyone else have the urge to bet it all on the rockets tonight? The lakers have been talking about the spurs for days now. Our guys aint going down without a fight.

It's fashionable to beat a "dead horse", or kiss a$$ to those "winners". But really, if they are remotely close to be smart, they should have known you won't get credit by repeating everyone is saying, but you could if you stay with the majority and endup with right opinion. Barkley's implication that Minny wanted to finish the series early, because Kings would finish Marvs early after 3-1, just made me laugh hard. It's kind of fun to watch people being proud of those "super intellectual" comments.

The reason Toastbert got started was when he was playing for the Clippers. He couldn't get any play time, so he spent a lot of time driving around and calling the sports talk show. One of the talk show found out he was a pro athlete, actually playing for the Clippers, they were very excited, made some kind of arrangement with him to call in every week. That's how he got started.

Late in his career, if you can call that a career, with the Warriors, he did the same thing with the local sports talk radio, KNBR680. One thing lead to another, he became a co-host for the station after no team wanted him to take up the bench space.

One thing about Toastbert is that he can talk, and he is not afraid of been look stupid. That's why many listener like him, they think he is funny, though stupid, but honest.
