I think he played a hell of the game. While not the tallest he was definately our Biggest Big Man tonite he was moving without the ball He was finishing [WITH A SLAM!!] He was rebounding. CONGRATS ON HIS DOUBLE DOUBLE Rocket River Since no one else posted it. ------------------
I knew my boy would step it up with Hakeem and Cato out! Can I get it one more time KT?!! ------------------ "Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever." - Gandhi
Sigh...this Dream-escape news has kept me up late, and the late nighter at GS caught up with me. I did a cat nap in the 3rd. I missed the 3 slams by our KT. What were they. RR says they were finishes. Were they really finishes of moves, or of passes. Verse said it once, and others too, that KT needs to take some frustration out on his biggest nemesis...the rim. give it to me. Please describe the slam moves...how did he get to the rim, from moves? from passes?
I know one was from a pass, but didn't see the others as I was "occupied". ------------------ "Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever." - Gandhi
HeyP Mostly off Passes more than finishes but 2 were finishes on a break The 3rd was off a hustle play by [shan?] saving a Ball under the goal to KT Rocket River ------------------
Kenny had a great game and an amazing 3rd quarter. Go KT!!! ------------------ Ceo of the Walt Williams fan club. Web site coming soon atheistalliance.org
One was on an offensive rebound, and I think the other two were from running the floor on fast breaks. Like I said in another thread, Marc Jackson is not exactly a stopper on defense. Embarrassing as it was to see KT outrunning him up the floor(even with a swollen knee, I think Erick Dampier is faster), the offensive rebound was the worst. Mobley put up a 3-pointer on a semi-break as Jackson was just reaching the paint. Rather than keep running toward the hoop to box out, Jackson decided to half-heartedly wave at Mobley, then leak upcourt. Thomas was left standing all alone at the rim when the rebound came to him, and he dunked it as Jackson watched from 60 feet away. ------------------
The dude was tearing down the rim. In about 30 seconds he had two vicious slams (hanging on the rim and thrusting up your body type slams), both on fast breaks. One off a feed from Walt and the other I thought was Francis. The third he snagged the loose ball and left his defender (I believe Jamison) in his wake... went right by him and threw down another rim-rattler. 10 points overall for KT in the third... ------------------ NOTHING BUT .NET CLUTCHCITY.NET
Awesome Effort from KT and the Gang , After Losing both our "Centers" KT , Air Bull , and Wiz really stepped up their game , Not to mention Cuttino Mobley scoring at will on Slim Shady , Excellent Leadership by Steve Francis to pass up his shot and find the open man , This guy is unselfish , Best Game of the Year . ------------------ Dont Go Hakeem
Notice how he got more active. Started adding enthusiasm to the Slams. I think he likes it. . . mikey Rocket River just keep slamming it ------------------
Don't forget that he also got a loose ball deep in the post with Jamison(I think) on him, pounded the ball to the court once, and went up for the easy jump hook. Great job KT. Can I have another tonight?! ------------------ "Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever." - Gandhi
I don't think he's better then Mo, look what MO has done the past few months, or the past few YEARS for that matter, but KT is definitely a solid player. I would rather have MO and KT and add players to the SF and center spot since Mo and KT will be cheaper, then lose Mo and maybe Shandon and hope and pray that Webber glances our way! ------------------ If Megatron can become Galvatron, why can't Rocks2001 become RocksMillenium? YES!!!!!!! NO NEGATIVE COMMENTS FROM ME ON KENNY (this time) !!!! kenny played like a man pissed off with the rim last night. that’s the kt i’ve been wanting to see. it was as if something smacked him in the back of the head and told him to shut up and play like a man. the dunk that impressed me the most was the one with the least thunder. it was a fast break, and (i believe) steve passed him the ball about six feet out from in front of the rim. kt wasn’t exactly going full speed, and was kind of out of rhythm. what’d he do? he dunked it, DAMNIT! he had to lean his upper body forward, stretch those arms out, dunk it, and swing his lower body through! it wasn’t powerful, but the effort it showed was, for most of the time, he would have danced around and flipped up a messed up reverse layup – only to see it beat up the back of the rim. this time, he threw down the hammer! WAY TO GO KT!!!! now go dunk on shaq!
RocksMillenium: I admire Mo's offensive abilities a great deal... I worry about his rebounding and defense. KT hasn't been great on defense, but he has proven capable of rebounding. If KT can be NEARLY as good as Mo on offense, then his rebounding would tip the scales. ------------------ Shandon Anderson rocks. The lottery sucks. Playoffs 2001.
But the thing is, KT isn't nearly as good. Mo offensively is as gifted as almost any PF in the game. He can post up, can face you up, has range out to 20 ft, can dribble, use the hook, etc. KT is improving offensively, but he only has one basic move in the pivot, isn't good at facing up his man and getting a jumper, and still is not a good finisher. And if you look at the last month, when Mo has finally gotten more minutes, he's a good rebounder in his own right-- almost as good as KT. KT had a good game last night, but he is not as good as Mo. ------------------ President of the Jason Collier and Mo Taylor fan club! Draftsource.net ClutchTown.com
Agreed Cat.... I like the way Kenny has played of late, but one game does not a star make. I like the fact that we have two capable, versatile forwards in Mo and Kenny. But Mo is a much more gifted player offensively. I also don't think Kenny is much better on the boards than Mo. Mo has shown me that he can and will rebound. ------------------ There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."
Truth be told Mo is actually playing pretty GOOD defense considering! Remember, we reside in the West which means holding a guy to 20 to 25 points nad 8 to 12 rebounds means a "solid" defensive effort. Jamison went bonkers for 43 points but that doesn't mean KT or anybody else defending him was a horrible defender, nobody has really guarded Jamison effectively. Mo is just a more well-rounded player then KT. ------------------ If Megatron can become Galvatron, why can't Rocks2001 become RocksMillenium?
RocksMill let add this to your statement . . . AT THIS POINT IN THEIR CAREERS Mo has 2 yrs exp on KT IT MEANS ALOT Rocket River I don't care if you Bill Gate and Steve Hawkins They still would not be a better electrician than a 20 yr Vet! ------------------
I like the combo we have at PF with Mo and Kenny. Both have a good arsenal of post moves, both have range, and both move well. When Kenny was drafted, I recall someone on TV mentioning post-draft that Houston got another steal. They also said Kenny probably had every bit as much talent and skill as Elton Brand. The difference was that Kenny had a rep. for not bringing it every night. ------------------ There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."
I still wouldn't be surprised if Thomas ends up being a starter caliber player. With his footwork, if he could just develop a better jump shop he'd be very effective. Per minute, he's an excellent rebounder, and can pass well to boot. He'll never be an all-star... but I'm not sure that he's not better than Mo. ------------------ Shandon Anderson rocks.
