Rudy was just on Russ Small's show, and announed Cato, KT, and EG will all be starting tonight as an "experiment." Discuss.
do i leave the gym early so i can catch all of the game? i wonder if this "experiment" might also mean that this lineup will play a zone on the defensive end? small forwards wouldnt want to shoot over KT that much and no one wants to drive in on the new twin towers. hopefully they dont get in foul trouble. then bring in Tmo to back up KT and lanky for Cat and we gots ourselve a big fontcourt and back...muahahahah
WOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO..... This is the lineup of the future.... Come on lets win this one.....We need for it to work. I don't like the word experiment...
I was just about to post to find out what the lineup would look like tonight. Did Rudy say for sure that Francis would be starting. The Celtics are a tough team, but need to concentrate on stopping Pierce. They also need to stop the utility players from having career nights.
That's great news. No matter who comes back off of the IL the rest of the year, Eddie should be cemented in the starting line-up from now on. Whenever Walt comes back, If Rudy T benches EG for him, I'm through for this year.
I forgot about Pierce... Who will be guarding Pierce?? I just hope Kenny can keep up with Paul Pierce... Pierce may have a career night tonight and if Francis doesn't start so will Kenny Anderson... I still think it is our best lineup but we might get burned by playing it against the best SF in the league....
I think that Cuttino will be guarding Pierce. Walker was out a few games, but he may be guarded by KT or EG? I not sure. A big, but fast lineup should be fairly competitive, but like I said for some reason Pierce scares me tonight.
PG - Kenny Anderson guarded by Moochie or Steve SG - Joe Johnson guarded by Cuttino SF - Paul Pierce guarded by ???? probably KT PF - Antione Walker guarded by ??? probably EG C - Tony Battie guarded by Cato Defensively, Boston is worst team to try this experiment with but I still like our matchup on offense. KT posting up Pierce will be awesome...
The Rockets can do a bunch of things tonite. Experiment #1 Eddie Griffin....can he defend a great offensive three well? Outcome 1: Completely Unsuccessful. Griffin will probably not play three much, without showing improvement in practice. Outcome 2: Partially successful. Griffin will be given more experimental sampling to determine if he can be successful in the long run. Outcome 3: Complete success. Griffin is given the three and its his to lose. Experiment #2 see Ex#1 and insert KT for Griffin. Experiment #3 Can KT be effective when guarded by a three? Experiment #4 Can Griffin be effective when guarded by a three? Experiment #5 Can Griffin guard JJ? He might be more representative of the average three despite playing the two.
Well since this experiment may be the start of something special, I am glad that I will be there to see it in person. Sec 10, Row 8, Seat 9. Yes! So the rest of the rotation should be: Willis Tmo Langhi OT Moochie
Another thing that might be interesting to note is that Boston may be forced to change their defense when Moochie comes in for Cato in the first.
Pierce is playing the 3 now? Well I dont worry about their backcourt anymore, I assume when Eric Williams comes in Pierce switches to the 2 spot . Griff and KT will have their work cut out for them tonight.
I don't like that lineup. Any lineup with Cato in it is still not a good one (unless it has Willis in it). And KT at the 3? I don't like that either.
I wonder how that will effect rotations. I guess they'll have to substitute small first instead of big. I'm all for change this season. We'll see what happens. Not a big fan of the Pierce vs. KT or EG matchup, but I would bet KT gets the assignment. With Cato AND Griffin behind him, he at least has some shot blocking as protection.
Yes, Yes, Yes,!!!!!!!!!! This is the line up that I've been waiting for. We don't lose anything at the offensive end because Eddie is currently shooting the 3 better than Walt. I've wanted KT to get a look at the SF spot, however I was hoping that he would have the luxury of guarding a real SF as oppose to one of the top scoring 2 guards in the league (Pierce). I still believe that KT can do a better defensive job at the SF position that either Walt or Rice.
Now why are you dissin Cato like that? Last I saw he was averaging about 8 points, 6 rebounds, and .9 blocks... He wasn't expected to come in a put up superstar numbers...
Actually he's putting up 6 points, 5.6 rebounds, and .8 blocks. "Dissin" him? He's not good. If that's dissin him, so be it I guess.
Pierce isn't a fast guy, so I think either Eddie or KT could handle him. Their speeds are close to Pierce.
