http://www.floridatoday.com/!NEWSROOM/columnstoryS1118DENTON.htm You heard it here first Needing some kind of spark to ignite their winless team, the New Orleans Hornets soon will trade for disgruntled Philadelphia forward Glenn Robinson. Robinson has yet to play this season and new coach Jim O'Brien doesn't even want him on the roster because of his questionable attitude and unwillingness to play defense. The Hornets need someone to help take the scoring load off of Baron Davis. And "Big Dog'' Robinson won't be shy about getting up shots. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I wonder who they're trying to trade him for? Let the speculation begin!!
Here's their roster: 12 Chris Andersen FC 6-10 228 Jul. 7, 1978 10 Darrell Armstrong PG 6-1 180 Jun. 22, 1968 Fayetteville St. 42 P.J. Getting rid of Big Dog for anyone is great for the team getting rid of him, this deal will make it so much easier to sweep the Hornets this season. The real trade rumor that will make the West even stronger is the deal that's supposed to send Vince Carter and Jalen Rose to Portland for Nick Van Exel and Shareef Abdur Rahim. That gives the Blazers this starting lineup. PG - Damon Stoudamire SG - Vince Carter SF - Jalen Rose PF - Zach Randolph C - Theo Ratliff With Derek Anderson, Darius Miles, Ruben Patterson and Przbilla coming off the bench, I guess they are missing some quality back up big men and PG.
Big Dog is garbage too, he's healthy and only on the IR because O'Brien thinks the Sixers are better without him.
Probly PJ Brown + throw ins(if necessary) if a deal were to take place. PJ is on the decline and has a huge contract, but he is a good team guy and another big body to platoon. That Raptors "rumor" sounds strange. It would basically be giving up for expiring contracts. SAR and Bosh aren't good compliments imo(and they already have a SAR lite tweener coming off the bench in Donyell), and NVE wouldn't be sticking around for long.
Big Dog for Jamal Mashburn and George Lynch. Mash is not going to play again and insurance is paying him. I think he will come off the books after this season also.
didn't say he wasn't garbage, just pointing out that the Sixers wouldn't be getting much back, not that they feel there are losing anything...
Big Dog is a scorer who plays little defense - so he's definitely not a superstar. But imo he's not that different from alot of other players who are considered serviceable or even stars - Antoine Walker, Carmelo Anthony, Allen Houston, Vince Carter... Is Rashard Lewis or Jamal Mashburn that different? Remember, Sheed was considered a "cancer" by Portland and then a savior by Detroit.
