Earlier I started a thread about trading Alston/Battier for another PG.

I want to keep Battier, believe me, but if people remember back to the Dream/Clyde/Barkley tandem, who was getting us killed with his D besides Chuck?

    MALONEY

Teams forced him to shoot right and left, just like Rafer and AB at some points.

This will be our downfall in the playoffs, if we make it.

    WE NEED A PG.

Giving up Battier would be the biggest mistake in the Tmac/Yao era. In my opinion, it would completely throw off the composure and dimension of this entire team. So unless the PG you speak of is a Paul or a Williams (hahaha  ), no way, sir.

I would take this team over the 1996-97 Rockets. Way better depth. This team just needs to get all their players back healthy.

I like battier but guys what happens when in the playoffs our last 2 possessions are bad shots from our superstars because a wide open Rafer can't throw it in the ocean or cover his man well enough?

We better not complain when it happens then, I guess.

Hahaha, I totally approve. It pains me every time an opponent gets an offensive board against the Rockets... and sadly, I've been feeling that pain a lot.

that's why I pick the 96-97 Rockets. But the season is early, don't know what the injury situation is.

Barkley would out rebound our entire front line.

Barkley scored 20 points or more 27 times, including a season-high 33 points in a 126-115 double overtime loss to the Lakers on Nov. 12, and grabbed double-figure rebound 40 times, including four games of 20 or more. He hauled down a career-high 33 boards in a 110-95 win at Phoenix on Nov. 2 and came back with 20 rebounds in the next game, a 75-72 win at Utah on Nov. 4. Barkley had 35 double-doubles and one triple-double, posting 27 points, 17 rebounds and a season-high 12 assists in a 120-115 overtime win at Golden State on Nov. 23. Starting all 16 of Houston's playoff games, Barkley averaged 17.9 points and 12.0 rebounds per game, the latter ranking third among all playoff performers.

I still remember that PHX game. One of the most impressive things I've seen on the basketball court. His demeanor and tenacity to go and get rebounds are unmatched in today's NBA. What happened to the Dennis Rodman's of the world? Only guy that came close recently was Big Ben.

Its not glamorous to play defense and rebound anymore.

look at the Yao must improve his defense/rebounding thread I created.
About 50% of the people still talk about offense on it.

Dennis Rodman was just a rebounding/defensive specialist, and look how many championship teams he helped. 5.
