doesn't sound very much like upholding the Constitution to me:

Article III of the Constitution establishes the federal judiciary. Article III, Section I states that "The judicial Power of the United States, shall be vested in one supreme Court, and in such inferior Courts as the Congress may from time to time ordain and establish."

"I'm Joe Biden and I approved this message":

You are such a pathetic troll. The ad is 100% accurate and the message at the end is that "Donald Trump cannot hold office again". Meaning its pretty obviously he's saying that the Supreme Court gave the presidency dictator powers (true), and that Donald Trump is a threat to use those dictator powers (also true) so you should not vote for Trump, and should vote Democrat to ensure those new dictator powers will not be abused (very true).

This is another case of right wing propaganda trolls who serve the MAGA anti-Democratic agenda by posting a video that they think nobody will watch, and creating a false headline because they think people are stupid, and will just believe their headline without actually viewing what is in question.

Maybe the threat to Democracy is all the people advocating we pack the supreme court because the chips fell the conservatives way regarding appointments?

Also the Supreme Court ruled that it actually would be legal for the President to declare war against the Supreme Court. So even if Biden was "declaring war" against the Supreme Court according to their ruling it would be immune from prosecution. You could only impeach him if he was violating the Constitution, and even then the President now has the power to use his position to threaten Senators with imprisonment or assassination via the DOJ/Seal Team 6, etc. if they vote to impeach and remove.

So since you support this MAGA Supreme Court, you should be upset that they took the separation of powers away from themselves by ruling that the president can become a dictator if he uses his position to do so.

Changing the Supreme Court to be less partisan, and rule more in line with the Constitution, and laws on the books would actually be more Democratic by definition.

Is this just what you guys do?? See what you're being accused of, and then blame the other side of doing the same thing even though its blatantly obvious how its the other way around.

This tactic is so cowardly. Be a man and own up to what you actually believe in instead of acting like a 5 year old on the school playground.

Democrats have been pretty dumb for the past eight or nine years, and continue to be dumb.

Democrats helped Trump get nominated — if he wins, it’s their fault
    by Joseph Bosco, opinion contributor

President Biden reportedly sees himself as the reincarnation of Franklin Delano Roosevelt. But Kamala Harris is no Harry Truman — or Lyndon Johnson for that matter, the other vice president and former senator who took power in modern times when a president died in office.

Ever since Donald Trump emerged as a presidential candidate in 2015, Democrats have underestimated his political appeal and relished facing him as an electoral opponent. Hillary Clinton made those mistakes herself, squandering the election victory she and virtually all the experts predicted was assured her in 2016.

Democrats spent the next three and a half years vilifying Trump and his policies. They lambasted even his administration’s transformative approach to China that confronted Beijing’s comprehensive assault on Western values and interests. Biden’s dovish national security team, comprising former Clinton and Obama administration officials, eventually saw the merit in Trump’s China policies and largely adopted them.

Trump spent his time spewing a narrative of rigged elections, political persecution and judicial bias, predictably energizing his MAGA base. The Democrats played into his hand with a series of legal prosecutions and two impeachments, which were viewed skeptically even by experts.

The circumstances and unprecedented legal basis of the first of these cases — the New York prosecution for false accounting practices — struck many as strained and conjured. It tainted the legitimacy of the indictments that followed, including the more credible and important charges related to mishandling of classified documents. But then Biden’s own record of wrongfully taking classified materials as a senator and vice president escaped prosecution after the special counsel’s assessment of his impaired mental state.

That development takes on added significance in light of his halting debate performance.

As the indictments rolled in, Democrats seemed to be successful at achieving two political objectives. First, they wanted to rile up Trump’s MAGA base, ensuring his Republican nomination. Second, they intended to damage him with the broader electorate for the November election.

The lawfare strategy ran parallel to Democratic tactics that were successful in the 2022 midterm elections, either by intervening in open GOP primaries to ensure Trump’s victories or failing to intervene to support his opponents. The tactic was explicitly declared in the pivotal state of South Carolina where Nikki Haley made her last stand against the former president’s momentum.

Many voters had not bothered to participate in the earlier Democratic primary, since Democrats had arranged the system so that Biden faced no significant opposition. That meant they were free to cast ballots for or against Trump in the subsequent GOP primary. It was effectively the last chance to block Trump’s seemingly inevitable path to the Republican nomination.

But the chair of the South Carolina Democratic Party adamantly refused the opportunity, saying “We are not going to bail you out” from Trump. Haley dropped out after losing her home state to Trump; Democrats now had their much-desired opponent.

The strategy of strengthening the MAGA movement, while disgusting or terrifying to everyone else, played out with congressional Democrats as well. When all it took was one Democratic abstention to prevent the MAGA wing from extracting the power to oust the Speaker, Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries ensured that every Democrat voted with Trump’s radical allies, giving the Biden campaign still more ammo as the Republicans' unacceptability.

Now, most Democrats are rallying around the beleaguered Biden, who polls increasingly show cannot defeat the man they accuse of ushering in the end of American democracy Polls show Vice President Kamala Harris faring no better against Trump than Biden, but a Biden resignation would enable her to run as an incumbent.

Republicans can preempt a Democratic strategy to bolster Harris as a Biden replacement by replacing Trump at their convention this month. Or, he could voluntarily withdraw, since he said in the debate he would not be running if Biden were not the Democratic candidate. A clean contest without Biden and Trump would give Americans a welcome fresh start at a critical moment in history.

If neither steps down, the country will need to brace itself for four more tumultuous Trump years, for which the Democrats and their pseudo-Machiavellian tactics will deserve a fair share of blame.

Nobody actually believes the crap in the video. Not even the Democrats on this board. If people actually believed that there was even a chance the front runner for the presidency was going to overthrow the US government and declare himself dictator (not possible), the stock market, real estate market, and dollar would all be going nuts. the entire world would be in financial chaos right now. luckily nobody actually believes this chicken little screaming. Its just a means of justifying all the horrible **** Dems do to their opponents.

I don't like the Democrat establishment and I evenangre that their fear mongering about democracy in regards to Trump is a rational concern and on so many fronts.

He is the number one reason 2/5ths of the voting population believe our vote counts can't be trusted.

His rhetoric alone is a threat to democracy and the concept of peaceful transition of power. That is a very reasonable concern over Trump given his history. Like come on.

honestly, you know he can do that now, right? legally? I mean it's a pretty well-known fact that the Supreme Court signed its own death warrant this week

President Biden is finalizing plans to endorse major changes to the Supreme Court in the coming weeks, including proposals for legislation to establish term limits for the justices and an enforceable ethics code, according to two people briefed on the plans.

He is also weighing whether to call for a constitutional amendment to eliminate broad immunity for presidents and other constitutional officeholders, the people said, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss private deliberations.

The announcement would mark a major shift for Biden, a former chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, who has long resisted calls to reform the high court. The potential changes come in response to growing outrage among his supporters about recent ethics scandals surrounding Justice Clarence Thomas and decisions by the new court majority that have changed legal precedent on issues including abortion and federal regulatory powers.

Biden previewed the shift in a Zoom call Saturday with the Congressional Progressive Caucus.

“I’m going to need your help on the Supreme Court, because I’m about to come out — I don’t want to prematurely announce it — but I’m about to come out with a major initiative on limiting the court … I’ve been working with constitutional scholars for the last three months, and I need some help,” Biden said, according to a transcript of the call obtained by The Washington Post.

Many if not all of the changes would probably need congressional approval. The details of Biden’s considered policies have not been disclosed. A White House spokesperson declined to comment.

Good luck with that constitutional amendment that would be required
