We'll just call it Drewdog's official garage sale:

Extra Long Twin Bed (Queen size in length)
Entertainment Center (Not a bulky looking Wal-Mart box piece of crap)
Nice beige Courdoroy chair that is super comfy!
    Lamps
    Tables (various sizes)
    Pictures
    CD holder thingy
    HP 15 inch monitor
    Funky/Retro side table
    Big Ironing Board
    Weber Small Charcoal Grill

Lots of other crap too. Most of it is in storage at my mom's house in Fredericksburg. I'll probably go up there next weekend.
Let me know what you want or really need and we can go from there.

Anything Sansui or Marantz from the 70s. Actually, really anything from the 70s -- Akai, Pioneer, Technics . . . if you find anything, let me know what it is, and I'll let you know if I want it.

Oh, also anything Kyocera from the early/mid 80s.

Or 70s Bose. All the newer stuff sucks, but the 70s Bose speakers rock!

I might be interested in the entertainment center. Does it have plenty of room for game systems and DVD/CD storage?

The one I have is small but cool. It looks like a sideways H. I had my TV, and 2 bookshelf speakers on top. I put my reciever/DVD player on the middle shelf, and had my DVD's and VHS tapes on the bottom. I put two mid-sized CD towers in the sections to the right and the left (about 150 or so).

The girl I am seeing has a much bigger/more traditional looking (box) thing with a big hole for the TV, three levels for audio equipment on the right, 2 shelves on the bottom (for XBOX, Playstation) and 2 cabinets to the right and left for more storage. Not sure yet if she would sell it, so I will have to check.

Let me know if you are interested in either one.

They both sound good to me. I'd have to take a look to know which one I'd want. I have a feeling your girlfriend's entertainment center would be a little higher priced. It sounds perfect for what I'd like to have, but the other one could work too.

I have used it a total of 4 times and I bought it from Target for $30.00 about a year ago. Good size for your apt.

    Id sell it for $15.

Thats cool. I will be in Houston this weekend. I am going to see if I can get mine from my mom's storage and bring it this weekend so you can look at it. My girl lives in West Houston so maybe (If I can convice her to sell it) you could come check out both and then decide. Cool?

Damn, where was this thread hiding? :D

We're in need of an entertainment center also, it all really depends on your asking price as to which one of the two is more interesting.

I'm also interested in the side table.

I know it was hidden on the second page. Jeff and Clutch need to take note and start a new form called "For Sale". Might be kind of cool

My smaller entertainment center as described in the thread to "B" is all black. I would be willing to sell it for $25.00

The bigger one (the girl I am seeing) Im not sure if it is for sale or not. I will have to ask her. She paid well over $100 for it so I am not sure how much she would ask. I will let you know.

The side table is really cool. Its a 60's two-tierd small side table that is in great condition. I got it at the city-wide garage sale here in Austin about a month ago, unfortunately I dont have any room for it in my house. I am willing to sell it for $25.00. It is brown.

Let me know. I have the side table with me, and can get the entertainment center pretty easily from my mom's storage.

Sounds like a good price to me. I could check both out on my way back from my golf tourney tomorrow afternoon/evening, or late Sunday afternoon/evening.

Send me an email and I'll give you my phone number. (You can e-mail me through my profile.)

    Later,

    B

There kindof is. The 70s were the PEAK of high quality audio gear. Sonically, there isn't much produced now that can match the warm sonics of a Marantz or a Sansui. So while people collect this stuff, we use it in our own systems. ebay is filled with old Pioneer, Marantz and Sansui stuff. That's where I bought my Sansui 9090DB and Kyocera DA-810. As far as making a profit on it, I have a friend who does that, but it's usually not conducive to making a big profit. If you were able to pick up an older receiver at a cheap price, and restore it, you might make some money. It really depends on demand though. Personally, I'm collecting stuff to use, and maybe try my hand at restoring. I'm really a Sansui fan, but the other 70s stuff kicked ass too. It was early to mid 80s when the build and sonic quality of stuff really just went to hell. Sansui became a producer of low end JUNK, Marantz became overpriced and overrated, and Pioneer became a higher-end Best Buy brand to lower end Audiophile brand. The thing is, with the advent of home theater, the way that people look at sound is now different, as people buy systems for home theater primarily, not for listening to music, which is usually the secondary function.

I'm selling a cc.net poster. I just haven't decided who I wanted to sell yet.

CC.net posters go for about 45 dollars, don't they?
