    Beyonce Ambushed By PETA Members

    LAUNCH Radio Networks

Singer/actress Beyonce, her mother and business partner Tina Knowles, and sister Solange thought they were going to sit down to a nice dinner with a couple of contest winners at Manhattan hotspot Nobu last week. Instead, they wound up ambushed by a pair of anti-fur crusaders.

The House Of Dereon fashion founders were told that their Thursday night dinner guests were winners of an eBay auction for VH1's Save the Music Foundation. It turns out the pair were also hidden-camera-carrying members of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), who within minutes of ordering their meals struck up a discussion about the use of fur in Beyonce's clothing line.

One woman began badgering the Knowles about methods of animal slaughter, and then pulled out a portable DVD player to show the women a tape of Pamela Anderson's attack on the fur industry, which features graphic footage. At that point Mama Knowles pulled the plug and asked them to leave, and they were escorted out of the restaurant by security.

The whole bizarre incident was captured in a three-minute tape that can be viewed on TMZ.com.

Meanwhile, Beyonce's new single "Deja Vu" featuring Jay-Z should be hitting radio this month. The track is from her second solo album B'Day, due September 5.

A normal PETA ambush includes flour and eggs. PETA you are letting me down!

these classless clowns pretended that they were auction winners of Save the Music (A charity organization). Not only did they embarass Htown's girl, they completely embarassed another charity to get their point across.

Hey Beyonce, sue the living crap out of them.

When will they learn that you can't strong arm people on the animal rights issue?

I always find it odd that PETA cares more about animals than they do about people.

this topic should be the most important one. whenever any of Htown's heroes or heroins get dissed, it becomes personal and more important the GW Bush or North Korea or Ann Colter or the fat dixie chicks.

Beyonce helped put Htown music on the map and she's done good for the community, to screw her over on a charity with some PETA idiots was a disgrace.

The funny thing is.. PETA people arent poor people. They are a bunch of rich kids with so much money they dont need to work real jobs, they get these low paying activist jobs and dont care about real topics like the economy and human rights.

Look at Pamela Anderson. She once was a good looking girl, then she got rich and fake. she supports peta. so does britney, both dumb trash gone rich.

Beyonce is all class, she does work for AIDs in Africa.

That's silly. The animals in question are tortured, slaughtered and worn, eaten or mounted on walls. The people in question are treated rudely.

if thinking PETA is trouncing over good people like Beyonce is being wierd, then I hope there are tons of wierd people out there.
At least we care about people not squirrels and the humane way of cooking lobsters.

When Beyonce is in the thread-title, shouldn't there be pics in the thread?

If they were indeed the winners of the auction...i don't see what was so wrong about what they did.

Nobody said they could only chat about fluff when Beyonce's clothing line is promoting the use of fur.

2 invited people 'ambushing' a party of 4?

And they were likely eating veggie...so at least the dinner tab would have been cheaper.

And i second Juans concern about a lack of pictures. RockHead rules and all that.

I don't understand why PETA doesn't understand that the reason no one takes them seriously is because they pull stuff like this. If there is a person who supports them here, can you answer this, are they really trying to get beyonce to change her stance or are they just trying to embarrass her. if they believe they are really gonna get her to change her stance they're dumbasses and I'm sure they're not. beyonce's fans aren't gonna boycott, so what is the point?

there has to be some sane person there who has got to tell them they are getting nothing accomplished with these tatics. they are already fighting an uphill battle given the cause. so do they just want to be seen, or do they really want to save animals?

Because they pull 'stuff like this' people know that Beyonce is behind a clothing line that promotes fur.

They do go way over the line (quite often IMO) but I don't see it here.

I assume they are operating under the assumption that there is no such thing as bad publicity. So, they do stuff they know will get covered by the newspapers, even if it makes them look like jerks. Most people may hate them, but we also know who they are.

Now, I'm going to go home and abuse my dog. :p

It's classless if nothing else. These 'auctions' for charity are implicitly if not explicitly for fans to have time with the star they idolize. Not only does PETA prevent an actual fan from getting the time, but they participate under false pretenses. You can say there is no small print about what can be discussed, and that's probably true, but it shows an absence of tact (and a disregard for the charity cause in question) to win the auction and then berate the celebrity that donated their time for the benefit of that charity.

I love the fact that these folks seem more worried about animals getting tortured but don't seem to mind our government torturing humans. Americans priorities are so screwed up.

    True enough Hayes.

i just found it to be one of their more creative and unobtrusive actions.

Pretty good amount of publicity without throwing cans of paint at people or comparing farms to the holocaust.

A little rudeness...charity gets their money...and their point is made.

It's not like they're printing 'meat is murder' on cheerleader outfits or anything ;).
