The Blazers and the Sonics, both on the road. The kids are growing up, and their chemistry is big. I thought the Portland game was a bit of a fluke, because they are locked into a playoff position with no hope of moving up. However, Seattle needs to win to avoid playing the Lakers in the 1st round, and the Rockets come out and win. More importantly, they win a CLOSE one on the road. Observations from the game. Kenny and Cato do not play with heart and desire when they are not involved in the offense. The Rockets need a rebounder extrodinaire, if KT and Cato don't learn how to play with passion without the ball. Rashard Lewis is going to be a star in the NBA. I have the League pass and the Seattle announcers were talking about his GREAT work ethic and what a good kid he is, they also said they expect the Rockets to make a play for him in the offseason. Lewis has indicated that PT is more important then Money. Another Anderson...maybe? (I HOPE!) One last note, screw the lottery, win the rest of the darn games and trade up in the draft. DaDakota PS. The Seattle announcers were a good tandem to listen to, very nice indeed. ------------------
How did James Worthy end up in Seattle? Comparing him to Calvin makes me wonder if Rocketman95 *really* does have League Pass. ------------------
DaDakota, Win the rest of the games and trade up in the draft. You're willing to sacrifice a player and a pick to move up in this draft? I wouldn't. To move up to get a Kenyon you'd have to give up a lot which would make no sense. Maybe they can get a Darius Miles. They're gonna win and move down in the lottery and I.... hate.... that!!! Anywho... nice win. *grumble* ------------------ <this space for rent>
D.O.D, Just relax my man, enjoy the win, and get ready to play Starlancer in 2 weeks. DaDakota ------------------
Good post Dakota. I couldn't agree with you more. Earlier in the season, the Rockets would have succumb to Portland's run in the late game and would have fallen. Earlier in the season, the Rockets would have made a rushed pass or made a rushed shot and would have lost to the Sonics. This team is really growing up and this is a true sign of it. Playing against two good teams and winning. Some people just want to lose, but I say that we should win, or at least try our best to win. I mean, look at the Rockets! They're all happy and ecstatic after a win, and everyone seems soooo... committed. They know that they will have a good team next year, and they know that they have to work hard over the summer. But there has been that positive attitude that has overall impressed me. This is a preview of things to come. About Kenny and Cato... I too was disappointed at the lack of effort these guys put up. On one play, Cato just stopped guarding Vin Baker and he had a wide open 3 footer that LUCKILY he missed. Plus, Seattle got SO MANY 2nd chance points, and that's the only reason they were any close. But we still shouldn't give up or anything. Both of them have A TON of potential, and I think if Kenny gets more consistent with that 3 pointer, he will be a lot better in 1 aspect. Bottom line: we need another big guy, but a Leon Smith or Darius Miles would be a nice addition. ------------------ treasurer of the moochie norris fan club
I'm still kind of high on Rashard Lewis. But would he really consider going to the Rockets after all the post-draft hard feelings? Funny, but I pretty much considered him a lost cause as far as we were concerned. But that does open up some interesting options. Maybe he could teach the other boys how to EARN their spot... ------------------ "There are three kinds of lies: Lies, Damned Lies, and STATISTICS..." - Mark Twain -
DaDakota, You're quickly becoming my hero. Your take on the games keeps my fan-flag-waving-moron tendencies in check and broadens anything I see. How about this: win all the rest of the games and trade our pick to Seattle for Lewis. He's a free agent. They are going to lose that boy.
Lewis is a very good player that is only 20 yrs old and has many yrs ahead of him , potential ? that would be an understatement ! this guy is good but would the Seattle Sup. willing to let him go? first of all we have to know their salary cap situation , if they don't have it then we have a good a chance as anyone , if they do then big question mark !! Would any of you capologist look up Seattle's cap situation ? that would be an indicative of how good a chance we actually have . Is Lewis in the same situation as Mobley is ?sounds like it. 2nd rounder 2 yr contract. ------------------ Thanks Hakeem for all the memories and the 2 championships... The torch has been passed... Francis , the making of brand new great memories for us rocket fans !
Heypartner, A hero, wow ! I always wanted to be a hero, and not one that dies like Simon Birch. Anyway, the 3rd win in a row over a playoff bound team. Yes, this team has learned how to play together, and how to beat the trapping press on our guards, notice KT or Cato coming to the free throw line and 2 cutters going baseline....a thing of beauty. Rudy is a good coach, and it is starting to pay off. Unfortunately, they are gelling at the wrong time. DaDakota ------------------
SIMON BIRCH DIED!!!!!!!!! DaDaKota . . I like the way you think. Win WIN WIN WIN Rocket River ------------------
