I know most will say Peterson, but Clarett in 2002 had some pretty good numbers. 5.6 a carry, 16 TD (Petterson has only 8) and over 1200 yards in 11 games. I think Peterson has more big play potential, but Clarett was great when OS needed a yard.

I thought Clarrett was going to be great. He had the vision and the power, if he is still there on day 2 of the NFL draft I hope the Texans take a look at him. Low risk high reward type of thing.

The Texans tend to take "class" guys right? I really don't see the Texans taking a chance on him UNLESS we're planning on dangling him as trade bait.

I'm going to say Clarett. Yes, Peterson's run of 100+ games is VERY impressive, but Maurice Clarett basically led the team TO the national championship, then on the biggest stage on the college level, he shone, not just making runs, but that one heads=up forced fumble from behind. I mean, for a freshman to have that much intuition...wow. Anyway, once Peterson takes his team to the national championship and has a monster game on that stage, I'll have to say Clarett.

Peterson every day. Clarett is the Marcus Dupree of the modern era.

And Peterson has outshined a Heisman trophy winner.

Athletically, Peterson's far superior, and it looks like he's a much better person too.

Clarett, after he finishes growing is going to be a strictly between the tackles guy. If everything goes well, I think he could end up somewhere in the spectrum between a Tyrone Wheatley and Jamal Lewis sort of a quick between the tackles guy. I don't honestly remember whether he could catch or block, but I think ideally he won't have to. His ideal place is in an I formation

Adrian Peterson, on the other hand, is a little harder for me to be sure about. My girlfriend is an OU fan, so I've seen every one of their televised games this year, and he has been amazing. The player whom I think of when I see him (I shudder to think it) is O.J. Simpson, in the way that he's wiggly & shifty when he gets beyond the line, and he's as quick as a flash to the hole. That having been said, the nature of OU's offense results in him having great angles and quite a few big holes that I sever saw there Clarrett. I'd be enlightening to see what would happen with less running room.

Clarret was better than Eddie Goerge or Robert Smith from my vantage point. No disrespect to either of teh former Buckeyes but Maurice was that good.
OSU's offense stunk when he didn't play (look at the games that year he didn't play as well as OSU's offense teh last 2 years).

    I'd take Maurice over Peterson.

peterson. he's also a WAY better prospect.

infact if he came out early he'd actually be a top pick.

I saw both play and I would have to go with peterson. I think clarett can have a very good nfl career while peterson can go on and have a great nfl career.

i asked my boys at ohio state this question when i saw this thread and they all said peterson (6 ppl), but they are all also really pissed at maurice with the recent happenings

They were both great, but I'd have to go with Peterson.

Clarett was in a run oriented offense that was built around him. Peterson is in a pass oriented offense (sort of) where he's not even the main weapon and he's still able to pile on the stats and take over games.

Clarett reminds me of Ron Dayne but Peterson reminds me of Eric Dickerson.

Peterson, if for no other reason than the time since Clarrett was playing last.
