Better to play the Lakers who we've beat a few times but who are built for the playoffs and will be as determined as ever or better to play the Kings who we are 0-4 against but who look to be struggling at the worst time i think we'd do better against the kings because I cant see anyone beating the lakers. We had a commanding lead in at least two games vs. the Kings that we couldn't hold onto, but i think in the playoffs we will be more focused and more determined to close out games
Kings Lakers with Malone healthy are dangerous and you know that Malone is going to be championship hungry.
Somehow in the regular season the kings are the team I fear the most when we meet them, but I think playoffs are a different story. There best players just do not seem to raise their game enough for the playoffs even though they have improved in that area the last few seasons. The Kings must be really determined this year to finally win the whole thing but I think they should have done it last year. I honestly think their team has peaked, don't know why it is just a hinch. Now for the Lakers... Kobe is just too good... I mean everyone fear Shaq (with good reason) but Kobe is just so good it is ridicoulos. No way we beat that team. So in terms of fear, I FEAR the Lakers. The Kings just don't have that unbeatable in the playoff aura that the Lakers have. Except for when Bibby is on his game. That just makes them tough as H**L. Teams ranked in terms of NOT wanting to meet them in the playoffs for me are as follows. 1. Lakers 2. Spurs 3. Timberwolves 4. Kings 5. Mavs 6. Grizzlies 7. Denver
Since Rockets don't stand a chance against either team, I prefer Lakers. At least Shaq-Yao match up is fun to watch, and playing against Lakers in playoff is a better experience for Rockets.
Bobby Jackson is too much for the Rockets...but will he play in the playoffs? I think Miller is on the IL too
I want the Lakers. I know it is insane, but, why not go for broke!? Player for player, they are much better than the Rockets; however, I think the Rockets have gotten in thier heads. I know the wins were without Malone, but I still think that the Rockets could take a game or two from them and create a very entertaining series. I am more afraid that the Kings will sweep us. I also think that the Lakers are not "in sync" right now, and may be vulnerable. To win the series would be equivalent to winning the NBA championship even if we were knocked out in the second round. This place would go crazy. Just to see Malone's face. Priceless. Tonight, I am routing for the Warriers and the Lakers!
There is a chance with the Kings, but we would be completely crushed if we play the Lakers. Let's face it. In playoff, Shaq will not take a break on defense, we all know what he did to Yao when he was up to defend his man. Yao will be a complete non-factor, which pretty much decide the Rockets' fate right there.
Queens for sure. Fakers have too many options. We have no answers for the FAB4. Kings beat us by the outside shooting plus our sloppy play. We can at least hope they will have a bad shooting day as they are in semi-slump right now (oops, Rockets too).
Kings, they're just not playing that well right now. Same goes for us, but that's how we've been all season long ... stretches of good and then bad games. Seems like we're on the cusp of another good stretch.
In a 7 game series I think we'd have a better chance at the Kings. Yao is already tired as it is. Having to battle shaq for a possible 7 games would wear on him too much. Shaq would play Yao straight up in which an inside out game would be less effective. At least with the Kings Yao would pose matchup problems and allow our system IF EXECUTED to exploit the kings defense. In the 4 games we've had chances to win but couldn't pull out in the end. Both teams will be tough but I think JVG's coaching in the playoffs will allow us to adapt to the kings play a bit better.
We have done better against the Lakers but the Kings aren't as physical as them. They will outsmart us with their passing and shooting. Either way it's going to be very difficult for us. I'm worried to see Francis and Mobley being injured and Yao is already tired. We need to bounce back quickly and go out with a positive attitude and have some fun. We have nothing to lose. The playoffs will be a new experience for most of our guys. I think they might be able to win at at least one game against the Kings but probably might be swept by the Lakers despite having some success with them in the regular season.
Just heard on Sportscenter that he was hurt. There's still hope, the Lakers are down three but have the ball with 8 seconds left.
