This does not give you your credit score for free but it does give you your credit reports for free. It will give you an option to pay for a score. I don't think there is anywhere you can view your actual credit scores without paying for them. myfico is legit though so if they have a good deal, use them.
http://creditkarma.com is free and will give you a score based on one of the bureaus. It's a "soft" inquiry so it doesn't hurt you to look as often as you like.
OK, so... not that I'm telling you NOT to get your score... or stop you from getting your reports, but... why do you need your credit score or why do you need to know it or tell other people unless you're going to dispute something? Don't brag that you have a GOOD score, don't complain that you have a BAD one. If anything, it's a private matter and no one else should know. They probably will already know it by your actions and your behavior. Pay your bills on time. Leave a couple credit cards opened. Pay your balance in large chunks and not the minimum. Keep working and keep your job so you can do the above.
Interest rates or required deposits can be dependent on the score, so it's helpful to know your score, what band you're in, and how close you are to losing or gaining a band so you can predict what kind of treatment you will get from vendors.
If someone has pulled your credit score in the last 6 months, they are legally obligated to send you a copy if you ask for it. That's a good way to get your score for free without having even a soft pull.
I got some mails addressed to my house with a differnet name which could be a sign of identity theft. that's the reason why i'm chcking and it's been like 5 years since I checked it.
If you bank with wells fargo, you can get their credit score service for 1$ the first month and 15.99$ after that.
Like I said... to dispute something. So now that you mention that... you need the report and not the score, am I right? Just a score won't help you. Will it?
Creditkarma.com is a good one... I believe it provides the score from Transunion.. you don't get all three but if its free why complain...
An outstanding ****ing LIBRARY BOOK FINE appears on my credit report. Didn't see that coming. Guess I'll go ahead and shell out that 30 bucks to HPL so I can get a mortgage loan someday. Anyone have experience building bad credit into good credit? How'd you do it? I've never owned a credit card... I guess getting one would be the first step?
it was like a regular check, there's nothing to dispute, everything's fine. knowing your score kind of validate the report.
