Well hello there; I've got a laptop and the screen has been getting these smudges from people inadvertantly touching it or other unexplainable dirty spots. I've done a little research and I know there are products designed to clean screens specifically, but I'm not sure what to do in my situation.

My computer, a Vaio S150 has the XBRITE LCD screen and I read that cleaning it is not the same as cleaning a normal LCD. So can anyone direct me on what I should/shouldn't use to clean my screen or any tips.

Maybe even suggestions for cleaning a computer (keyboard, casing, etc) in general.

    Thanks so much!

A good lick-down would probably do the trick.

On a laptop, don't use any type of cleaning chemicals, as they can react with the outer layer of the display. Never use anything more powerful than a damp rag that you've dried enough to make sure that it won't drip.

I used to spit on my screen and clean with my fist, but I stopped when it started spitting back  It was actually kind of a relief actually, I got tired of having to clean it.

A soft, damp cloth. I've read that it's best not to use anything harsher than water on a laptop screen. That's what I use on mine for the past year and a half, and I believe it has worked fine.

I'd think that canned air would be best...

I would use distilled water on your clean and soft damp cloth, but that's probably pretty anal, I guess.
