Did a search on this topic and only thing that came up for me was a thread 5 years ago (!) about how bad Half Life 2's ending was. So what do you think? Any ending that by itself (almost) makes a game worth playing? I'm talking about more than just wrapping up the story -- presentation is also key. Here are mine, in no particular order: - Dragon Quest III (if you have the patience to sit through 100+ hours of it, you'll probably find the ending worthwhile) - Mega Man II - Wing Commander - Lunar: Eternal Blue Complete (probably helped a lot by having played Lunar: The Silver Star Story Complete) - God Hand I would have listed Metal Gear Solid on PS1, but the end credit theme was weak and out of place in the sound track (unless you get the special ending, which uses the main theme, IIRC). And for those who responded MGS3 in the HL2 thread, given the passage of time, do you still hold the same opinion about the ending? I just might try to play it if that's the case. Was not thrilled by MGS4's ending.

i remember loving castlevania's ending, that was a fun game or how every streetfighter character had his own ending.
MGS3's ending is still awesome IMO. I didn't have too much of a problem with MGS4's ending, but I definitely like the MGS3 ending better. Waiting for class right now, but I'll try to come up with some more later on.
Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare has a cool ending where you're last standing on the collapsing bridge and the other guy slides you his pistol. You then take out the 2 armed guards and and shoot Zakhaev.
Portal ending. Seconded. I almost cried, no joke. REAL good. MGS4 was solid too. Didn't see that coming, but I agree, 3 is still by far better.
Nothing beats the ending to Bionic Commando. Where else do you get to see Hitler's face explode? Nowhere else, that's where.
That was pretty cool. The ending of WaW was pretty predictable, raising the Soviet flag over the Reichstag.
There is only one right answer to this. MGS3. No video game has an ending as emotional as MGS3. It's second to none!
Not the actual final ending, but once the secret was discovered in Bioshock, I thought was pretty good. Mass Effect was pretty good as well.
