I had an interesting discussion about what was the best TV series of all time the other day, and I thought it might be fun to do it on the BBS in the style of a tournament.

When nominating, any genre is acceptable, but keep in mind that the show has to be fairly well established. This means that one season wonders are not really acceptable. So, while 24 and The Osbournes might be good shows, they aren't acceptable yet because they have only been on for one season and have not yet stood the test of time.

You can define "best" any way you want, be it most entertaining, most influential or most important historically.

Here is the list so far. Please nominate other shows you would like to see on here. I'm hoping to get at least 64, but the more, the merrier.

Many of my favorites are already one the list, but, considering some of the selections, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air deserves to be on the list.

I also think that Friends is funny...

I can't believe I forgot the best show ever: Law & Order

Speaking of, one of these days, I'm going to go buy one of those closed down theaters in town and open the Law & Order Cinema where we would play only movies that have an appearance by someone who has been on at least one episode of Law & Order.

Of course, that would mean we could play just about any movie, but still.....

Smallville would be disqualified under the same rules that made 24 ineligible.

I love that show, too, though.

I'm sorry, but I will have to agree with TV guide on their number 1 selection.

I watched some Three's Company this morning, and I gotta say its some funny stuff. Timing mentioned it, but I'll give it a plug here.

Also, Mama's Family is pretty good.

I presume this will be shot done because the humour goes above your USA heads, but along with Black Adder and Faulty Towers, the best ever British show is RED DWARF
