Hey guys, I am looking to buy a 65"-70" LED or 4K TV. When would be a good time for a nice sale? For the 4K tvs, it appears the nano crystal technology are a lot better than the quad core processors? However, there is a nice premium for the 4Ks. How do ya feel about 2160P compare to 1080P? Is it worth the premium? Thanks.
Premium TVs that cost $2,000 even on blackfriday won't be a problem getting. You could probably walk into the store at open and snag it.
Black Friday has the best deals on TVs. Premium models like 4k are not hard to get on Black Friday. People are in line for the cheaper models that are size for the dollar. Fry's also runs good deals after Black Friday to get rid of their yearly inventory. Sign up for their e-mails to get those promo codes. Some of those sales are better than Black Friday prices, but much more limited to specific model and size. If you want to compare models, rtings.com is a good objective website.
just dont get 4k stick to plain jane 1080p HD. we are 10 years away from widespread 4k content on tv channels and if you sit the normal distance from your tv like most families 4k is wasted on you.
You should take viewing distance into account when deciding on 4K vs 1080p. At 65-70", for a 4K TV (and assuming the content itself is 4K) you have to sit about 4 feet or so away from the TV to get the full benefit of that resolution. OTOH, for a 65-70" 1080p TV (and 1080p content), you can get the full benefit of the res at normal living room viewing distance - i.e. 9 or 10 feet. If you're looking to buy a new HDTV this year, I think you'll get more bang for your buck by sticking with 1080p. The premiums that 4K carry aren't really worth it, IMO. Just make sure you buy a good model and brand. I second the rtings.com recommendation.
If you look for 4k , look for quantum dot technology. Each manufacturer calls it something different. Samsung calls it SUHD
People will say Black Friday but I've read that February is the best time to grab the best deals on TVs. They are clearing out the old inventory and bringing in the new hotness. Plus you won't have to wait in a line.
Maybe, but only if you're fine with goose hunts and being okay with not getting the exact model you want. Even so, you'll only save maybe 10-20% off that Black Friday/end of the year pricing and have to wait that 2-3 months. Then, you better hope yours isn't a lemon or has any slight defect like a bad pixel, clouding, or a scratched panel because there will be no stock to exchange it with. If you're really on a budget, go for it and cross your fingers. But someone that wants a 65" 4K TV isn't exactly a budget buyer.
I got an 80 incher right around Black Friday last year from Sams. It was $3k marked down to $2k I was promised delivery within the week Didn't show up for 3 weeks I complained and got $350 off 65 inches would seem small to me now... Lol. Admittedly the picture quality isn't quite what the 4ks look like in Best Buy... But it is really solid 1080p HD. Looks great. More importantly looks big. Would have gone projector but for all the windows and light in the room. This worked great and was comparatively cheap!
Whatever you buy, there won't be anything that takes advantage of it, most of the features will be marketing mumbo-jumbo that probably won't get used, and the tv itself will be obsolete within a year. Good luck.
YEAH! I also heard now is the best time of the year to buy a car as well!! Make sure you come to your local dealership today before these all these mind blowing incentives are gone!!! You won't want to miss out!!!
