The Jailblazers drafting Foye and ruining our chances at Brandon Roy. Through that we ended up getting Battier, but IMO MORE IMPORTANTLY keeping Luther Head. Luther has been an absolute monster and exactly what the Rockets were looking for in an outside shooter to compliment TMac/Yao.

I believe Brandon Roy will be a SPECIAL player and Rudy Gay COULD become a very solid player. Still if we have any chance of winning it all, Battier + Head will become absolutely two of the most important pieces ALONG WITH a HEALTHY Tmac and Yao.

I think the Rockets can win it all this year IF Tmac/Yao get HEALTHY at the right time and TMac keeps playing like he is, Yao gets back to his old self, and I think most important Rafer Alston (I personally think he is perfect fit if he fixes one thing) STOPS SHOOTING AND STARTS PASSING MORE. This guy cannot make a floater, but he keeps shooting them, cannot make a 3, BUT HE KEEPS SHOOTING THEM. Pass the ball to freaking Luther Head who is shooting 47%. Let Luther shoot a few more 3s a game, couldn't hurt.

    Ok thats all :).

Will be pretty tough to win it over Ben Gordon of the Chicago Bulls who will drop a 40 spot every now and then but I like his chances.

Roy could be an instant offense for us but his stock will be to mich for our luxury tax in years to come and Gay will be explosive too in another year or so, but tonight against the Rockets he was school by Tmac.

I don't know if the Rockets were ever serious about trading Luther this past offseason, but I'm grateful it never happened. He's been money from 3-point land this year. And his assist numbers aren't too bad lately either.

The Celtics wanted Foye, so the the Blazers drafter for them and got Foye, then the Celtics drafted Roy, then did trade? I think thats how it worked out, either way, we just didnt end up getting Brandon Roy.

    good point.

the debate on gay/stro for shane is great enough, but head/shane for roy/stro would make for a good debate as well.

I believe Roy and Head could have coexisted. That said Battier is just great for the team.

No, we would never have had both. Just Roy. The trade was 8th and Head for Roy.

I'll take Roy over head but in saying that the key part of the deal is we unloaded stromile swift's contract also. so i think that was the key plus i think the trail balzers wanted us to take on darius miles contract which may be worse than swift's. swift and miles together would have killed the books for years to come this is why the rockets didn't pull the trigger on the deal.

Sorry, but I'll take Roy. You're fooling yourself otherwise.

You realize Roy is an AMAZING talent and we all know that, but by getting Roy you lose: Head, Battier. On top of that you get another slasher and not an outside threat that the Rockets DEARLY need.

Choice: Head, Battier or Roy, Swift.

I'll take Head, Battier personally, because it gives us depth at the 4 and a 3 point shooter. Roy is MUCH better overall than Head, but really this guy is a slasher and a shoot first guard, and we need a Luther Head who is there to just hit the Key open 3s.
