I am looking to sell a lot of books I don't want anymore (mostly text books and sports books). I know I could probably get the most money online, but I don't really want to go through that effort. I would prefer just to take the load of books to a physical store and be done with it. The only place I know that buys books is Half Price Books. Are there any other physical stores out there, preferably in the Houston/Clear Lake area that would give a decent price for used books? Thanks in advance.
You can sell them on your own via Half.com or Amazon Marketplace. I'm sure there are probably some other websites out there...
use this site.. www.bookscouter.com I used it last semester to sell my books, they give reviews of each buy back place and provide the highest you can get for a book from some of the top buy back places on the net.
Sell it online would probably be your best bet. Half priced books will hardly give you anything for them.
+1 on this. They will NOT give you a "good" price on your books. But they will take them off your hands.
I think it's kind of funny how the guy said not online in his OP, yet all the responses list websites... But really, you may as well burn them if you don't sell them online. No one will give you more than maybe like ten dollars combine for all of your books combined unless you have something reallllllly worthwhile
Sad, but true. One of my favorite places to shop for books, but far from the best place to sell them. A good friend of mine had had great luck selling part of his extensive collection on eBay (the ones I didn't seal from him! ), but recently took a few hardcovers (in good/excellent condition) to Half Price Books on a whim, because he's thinking about moving and thought he would check out that option. He was given $20 for 32 hardcovers and all, like I said, in good to excellent condition. Bummer.
