I couldnt find those "best restaurant" threads, so I just started this new one. Plus I want to only know about steak houses. Me and my girl went this Brazilian steakhouse by the Galleria. Its called Fogo De Chao. Best steak you can have. Its a buffet type of place. They serve like 14 different types of meats. There are all of these waiters walking around with fresh hot meat. Filet mignon, sirloin, lamb chops, chicken, etc....They come to your table and ask you if you would like whatever they are holding. Excellent food (escpecially the lamb chops and filet mignons) and excellent service. Even better-its all you can eat!! It is a little expensive though. ------------------
You're right...Fogo De Chao kicks butt. Rodezio Grill is the same gig but the food is not as good as Fogo De Chao. For a straight-on steak try the Palm or Sullivan's. ------------------ I am the b*stard son of LHutz. Huh? Right!
Nothing beats Pappas Steakhouse.....a bit pricey, but if you want to have the best steak in town it`s worth it! ------------------
Saltgrass has reasonably priced high quality steaks. Taste of Texas is fairly good too. I'd love to try out Fogo De Chao. ------------------ "I have a DREAM.........his name's Hakeem." DREAMer's Rocket Page
The best steak I've had in Houston was at Vallone's, on Kirby. I don't think they're strictly a steakhouse, though. ------------------
Perry's steakhouse in Clearlake Make sure you get the Chateau Briand ------------------ stop posting my damn signature
Rudy's Barbecue. No wait, thats in Austin. ------------------ The next time I have meat and mashed potatoes, I think I'll put a very large blob of potatoes on my plate with just a little piece of meat. And if someone asks me why i didn't get more meat, ill just say, "Oh, you mean this?" and pull out a big piece of meat from inside the blob of potatoes, where ive hidden it. Good magic trick, huh?
I've always enjoyed the Old San Francisco Steakhouse. How can you not like having a 10 pound block of cheese on your table?! ------------------ RocketFuel is dead!
Pole - I've been to Perry's in Clear Lake. Its pretty good, but it doesnt even come close to Fogo de Chao. Some other good places are "Texas Land & Cattle" and also Cheescake Factory. Dreamer if you love steaks youll absolutely love Fogo. Rocketman Ive heard about Rodezio Grill also. Is it even remotely close to Fogo de Chao? ------------------
To paraphrase Homer Simpson... "Mmmmmm. Brenner's!" ------------------ I am the b*stard son of LHutz. Huh? Right!
It's the same type of restaurant with the grilled meats on skewers carved at your table, etc. It is less expensive than Fogo De Chao but the food is not nearly as good. I would avoid Rodezio Grill and spend the extra cash to go to Fogo De Chao. If that's what you feel like eating, it's worth the extra money. ------------------ I am the b*stard son of LHutz. Huh? Right!
Trvia: The Word Barbeque, what nationality brought that word to the United states? ------------------ humble, but hungry.
Brenners is an old classic that gets beef aged to their longstanding specifications, since 1936. Oh, and don't forget to ask for your complementary melba toast. No--really--everything there melts in your mouth! Expect to spend around $50/per. I'm not much for desserts, but people actually say the Key Lime pie is the most extraordinary thing on the menu. It is past highway 6 along the inbound side of I-10, in a house. It is easy to miss. It is said to be the whole reason Taste of Texas chose their location--to steal Brenners business. http://brenners.citysearch.com/ [This message has been edited by heypartner (edited November 21, 2000).]
A Little long time family run place off North Sheperd (sp?)... called "Ducho's", pronounced doo-choes... Great steaks! Hey we've got Rudy's BBQ here in Albuquerque, sounds like I'll have to try it. ------------------ Proud Father of the Rockets' future point guard.
fogo de chao ? How do you say the last syllable ? How much is it per person ? ------------------ "There are two players carrying the Rockets right now. Hakeem and Olajuwon." Isiah Thomas [This message has been edited by gr8-1 (edited November 21, 2000).]
