I've been looking around for service to get my tv mounted. I didn't want to do Best buy or Circuit City b/c it seems they charge really high. I didn't want to do it myself and didn't want to spend that much either. Any advice?

no idea, but it's REALly not hard at all to do by yourself. I did it on my own.. only needed help from someone for the very last part where you pick the TV up and have it click in..

Order from www.monoprice.com. I got the mount there for my 46 inch LCD and hung it myself. I'm far from a handyman and it wasn't difficult at all. And it saved me about $250.

I've heard horror stories of how people do it themselves only to find their TV on the floor the next day. I'll see if I could do it. I guess my only other concern is hiding the cables. I'm not sure how that's done.

Why in the world do they charge so much by the way?

No brand, or you could say that it's the Monoprice brand. But they are top-notch.

No stud finder, but it does come with big ass screws. You probably want to go to the hardware store and buy more, though. You can never put in too many.

I will second what he said.. I should have mentioned. But I got mine off monoprice also.

To make sure it's not on the floor... a) make sure you find studs and double check it.. b) make sure you get a stand that's rated for the weight/size of your TV (or one rated for a higher weight class if you want).

Didn't come with a stud finder.. my roommate's didn't work well. So I did the tap-tap-tap method, listening for the solid sound. Then I drilled tiny holes to see.. and I was wrong a few times. No big deal, holes hidden by TV

sack up and do it yourself. If you want to hide the wires you run them down the wall to a box or something.

Forgot to add: Look at the TV and divide it in half horizontally. The middle of the bottom half of the TV should be level with your eyes when you are sitting in a comfortable position.

As others have said, order from monoprice. I've had multiple high end large flat
Screen mounted on their wall mounts and never had problem with. Doing it yourself
is not hard, but make sure to use a leveler. If you are in hou I might have a guy that can
do it for a 100-150 bucks.

He is not a professional, but I have used him to mount three tvs and he's done an excellent job so far. He really only does it cause I know him, but I could ask for you depending what area you live in.

If you are doing it yourself, you can buy a white paintable strip from Home Depot to run the wires down from outside the wall.

depending on the mount you use, you may want to have a buddy over to help hold it while you figure out where the holes need to be drilled.

it truly is as easy as a pencil, level, and drill. though, you may want to have a tape measure to make sure you're properly spaced in the room... and a stud finder is helpful; otherwise, you can use like 6 toggle bolts directly in the sheet rock.

    it's fairly simple, i mounted 3 today ;)
