OK I think that channel 2 is kicking everyone's a$$ on the coverage - even though I am not normally a fan of 2 AND I have to give 13 credit for not pre-empting Lost but I wanted to know what everyone else thinks BTW - am I the only one who Neil Frank is creeping out. Its almost like he wants to will this storm to hit Houston... [storm moves 100 miles due north toward LA] N Frank: "I know what everyone is saying, but I am concerned about that little wabble to the left in frame 4... see down and to the right... down... and to the right..." this guy was hiring after Alicia as has had a hard on for another one to hit ever since !
I'm watching Channel 2 online. It has been pretty good coverage, though I am more a fan of the morning weather guy as oppossed to the guy currently on.
Where the hell is CFN (Clutchfans.net)?! The Rita thread(s) is the only thing I'm really using to follow this. Well ok, and a couple of intellicast.com and weather.com links.
i'm not really listening to anything any channel is saying. mostly, i'm just switching the channels between channel 2 and channel 11 so i can watch dominique sachse and lisa foranda
Ch2 prediction seems alot diff. than the other 3 channels (fox, ktrk, and khou)...those other 3 think that the system might backtrack and that there will be alot of rain .. up to 8" but KPRC didnt mention that at all and said to only expect 2-3" of rain.
http://www.khou.com/ Blows channel 2 out of the water. Channel 2 had a Call Frank with a question earlier today. Lots of dumb calls that if people had been paying attention they would have known the answers hours earlier. Channel 11 (Khou) was interviewing people getting drunk at a bar in Galveston. "Why didn't you evacuate?" asked the interviewer. "Because I have been here for 3 Hurricanes and survived" answered the tatooed dude. "When will you be leaving here" persisted the lady interviewer. "As long as He is there (camera swings around for a shot of a cop car sitting outside) it won't be anytime soon" answered the tatooed dude. The cop was actually taking pictures of the people on the deck of this bar.
Clutch (or wunderground) the televised coverage has been terrible - either stirring up panic or going to simply stupid on the spot interviews. and I would have had kittens if LOST had been pre-empted. Evan
From watching local news for many, may years, I just have a lot more confidence in Frank Bilingsingly than any of the other metreologists. I think that guy knows his stuff, but that's just me.
I agree - forget the filler coverage, I just think that big Frank called this for Louisiana way before everyone else... meanwhile, his nemises, DOCTOR Neil Frank is still trying to convense everyone its coming here "down, and to the right... down, and to the right... STOP STARING AT ME!!!!"
I like how on Fox they have that fake "Houston Skyline" backdrop and it's all sunny and happy when currently it's nasy out.. just looks funny
Actually, Bilingsingly said it will be 4-8" across most of Houston, at least near the SW side where I live.
Guys answer me this. Is Frank Billingsly really gay?? Some of my family members shacked up here said that. Not that there's anything wrong with that, I think he's awesome. I just had never heard that.
