I'm a big fan of happy hour specials. If I can get food and drinks cheaper at a certain time of day, then I am all for it. I'm looking to expand my horizons and try some new places, so post your favorite spots to hit after a long day of work. I'm looking for places with good (strong) drinks, good food, and most of all, good prices. I'd especially like to hear about any Tex-mex restaurants that meet this criteria, because it's really hard to find a good strong margarita at a decent price.
eh, i'll admit. i probably couldn't tell a good beer from piss in a jar, but i like it. whatever is cheap and not downright nasty tastes pretty good to me.
What part of town are you in? We HH on the North side at least once a week, including last night which is why I'm still hungover. Outback, La Cabana, Lupe Tortillas, Swig...the list goes on and on.
Zake on Shepherd/Alabama has a very good sushi happy hour. Unfortunately, Blue Fish stopped doing happy hour last month, theirs rocked big time. Teotihuacan has a good one, as does El Pueblito, if you're looking for margaritas. Another great one is at T'afia. Buy a drink, get free appetizers.
99 cent margs at Teotihuacan on Fridays from 4-7 but no food discounts. Cafe Adobe is good for a margarita happy hour. Benjy's in the Village has drink and appetizer specials during happy hour. Or, you can check this link out
I've always liked Sherlock's happy hour. Cheap pitchers (not sure about the liquor specials) and free buffet.
Molly Maguires on 1960 and Kuykendahl has $4 pitchers of Shiner on Thursday nights. And a kick ass jukebox, too.
I remember back in the early '90s it was Lola's for $1 bottled beer on Tuesdays and Emo's for $1 beer on Wednesdays. Does Lola's still have the cheap beer nights?
Unless you've been there since 4:00, made a couple trips to the car, and have downed about 8 pitchers between you and a couple of buddies...pretty much anything sounds good.
Yan Sushi on Westheimer has dollar domestics and half-price appetizers week every day from 4-7pm I believe. Not the best sushi, but CHEAP, and good if you don't go crazy.
