Three words.... Metal Gear Solid Top four others: 2. Future Cop LAPD 3. NFL Blitz 4. NBA Shootout '98 5. Grand Turismo
Two words, TOO EASY! 1. Gran Turismo 2. Final Fantasy VIII 3. NBA Live 2000 4. FIFA 2000 5. Brian Lara Cricket
IROC - I have Shootout 98! I Rock it on that game, and it costed me only 10 bucks cuz everyone thought it sucked. 1. FF8 2. FF Anthology 3. Metal Gear Solid 4. Crash Bandicoot Team Racing 5. Soul Blade
1. Metal Gear Solid (Snake, you idiot!) 2. Fear Effect (It's brand new, check it out) 3. Siphon Filter (Sequel available soon) 4. Intelligence Cube (addictive!) 5. Driver 6. Soul Reaver (The narrators voice rocks) I'd also like to hear what you guys think are the most overhyped or overrated games. I was exteremly disappointed in the following: 1,2,3. All but the first Tomb Raider. 4,5. Resident Evil 2 & 3. 6. Phantom Menace (My friend's 4 year old beat this one) 7. The sequel to Parappa the Rapper (I forget the name) The first one was catchy, the second one sucked. 8. All the Street Fighters. This arcade game is not the same on a console. I put myself through College betting on this one, I was really disappointed with the PSX version. What about you guys? ------------------ The truth is out there. I have still seen nothing that tops atari's pong or tank battle. ------------------ I took a course in speed waiting. Now I can wait an hour in only ten minutes- Steven Wright
Bob, Please. Space Invaders, Missle Command, Tempest, ummm... Yar's Revenge... ummm... Frogger, Pac Man, Stargate, and Pitfall. ------------------ <this space for rent>
I am with you all the way IROC it. Metal Gear Solid is by far the best game I have had the pleasure of playing on Playstation. Can't wait for the sequal on Playstation 2! Damn I will be one of those in line on the first day to get my PS2! Does anyone know if they are offering any kind of cools freebies if you reserve one on the Web or at a particular store? 1) Metal Gear Solid 2) NFL Blitz 2000 3) Crash Team Racing 4) Resident Evil Series 5) Crash Warped (It is part 3 of the Crash Bandicot series) 6) Atari Series (Only games my wife will play. She still loves Pac Man and Froger!) Did I mention I can't wait for PS2!!! ------------------ "There is Francis backpedaling at full speed to guard Seattle All-Star Gary Payton on a fast break and then leaping as if off a springboard to make a spectacular fingertip block on what appeared to be a sure layup."
PhiSlammaJamma: Check out metal gear solid at this web site... http://www.metalgear.com/ Coming from a guy who rents and finishes games in less than a week on a regular basis, it is the ONLY game I bought. It is definately worth a look. ------------------ The truth is out there.
I should add that you should use the low bandwidth part of the site. The flash/shockwave is screwed up right now.
Man o Man... Yars Revenge was the absolute bomb, back in the day. Megolamania was cool and I was always partial to Combat but only the tank's with the bouncing bullets Nintendo... Tecmo Bowl Double Dribble Legend of Zelda Genesis... Ground Zero as for Playstation... Tomb Raider (1-3) Metal Gear Solid Gran Turismo Abe's oddesy [This message has been edited by Dreamshake (edited March 10, 2000).]
Other favorites..... Atari - Berzerk (could play that for hours on end!!) Nintendo - Tecmo SuperBowl Sega Genesis - NBA Jam (Super fun!!) PlayStation honorable mentions: Tomb Raiders - if you can get the hang of the which way to steer Laura Croft Gecko games, new 3D Frogger, High Heat 2000 (baseball), Tekken games (HOW DID I FORGET THESE!!!????), Soul Blade, Dark Forces, Rebel Assault II Mulder, I agree on Star Wars Ep. 1 TPM game, too easy! But it's still cool to play through. DON'T BUY: Jet Moto 2 Rayman (unless you just like kids' games) NBA JAM Extreme (loads toooooo slow, plays at an awkward angle) Star Wars: Masters of Teras Kasi (fighting game/die hard Star Wars fans only... really kinda lame in the light of Tekken) Best PC games anyone?
Atari: Remember "Adventure"? Coleco: Donkey Kong Jr. Old Nintendo: RBI Baseball (I still believe this is one of the funnest baseball games today) Genesis: EA NHL Hockey '93 PlayStation: Twisted Metal 2 one of the funner games, though NBA Live 2000 is very fun. BTW, my older brother is working in Japan at the moment -- PS2 just came out there. Says it is INSANE how graphically awesome it is.
First of all. I own two games. Triple play Baseball 98 and Live Basketball 99. Those are pretty good. What is the Metal Gear Solid game all about? [This message has been edited by PhiSlammaJamma (edited March 10, 2000).]
PC GAMES Tribes (best online multiplayer) Quake 3 (seriously violent) Unreal Tournament Command and Conquer: Red Alert (old school but it was the bomb) Half-Life (best single player) Close Combat 3: The Russian Front Aliens vs Predator (creepiest game I have ever played, will make you sweat like sports, play as the marine and you will be seriously scared) Alpha Centauri (seriously wierd, seriously addicting) Dreamcast Soul Calibur Sonic Andventure Crazy Taxi NBA Showtime Ready 2 Rumble Playstation Metal Gear Solid Tekken 3 Gran Turismo Final Fantasy 7 Tenchu Forgive me I am a bit of a gamer.
PC: Railroad Tycoon II Red Alert (it still IS the bomb!) Rollercoaster Tycoon Age of Empires Total Annihilation Midtown Madness I'm probably leaving a couple off, but oh well. Nintendo 2 player RBI Baseball is the most fun I've ever had in any game, any platform. Tecmo Bowl Genesis the first two NHL games from EA Sports Madden 93 NCAA Football 94 C64 Great American Cross Country Road Race Summer Games Wizard Beach Head II (when I got an emulator and played these, I just marvelled how lame these games are compared to today's games) [This message has been edited by keeley (edited March 11, 2000).]
I think Tecmo Bowl changed everything. That was the first game that I can think of that really looked at the individual talents of every player. I played that game all the time. In the original, the Bears and giants could block every kick attempt...heee heee! I got so good at the first version I could win with Seattle and Curt Warner. Run run run. My friends hated me.
Ok, ok, I'll play along : Atari 2600 Berzerk Yars Revenge Pitfall Frogger Defender (probably a bunch more I'm forgetting) PC Frontpage Sports Football Frontpage Sports Baseball Front Office Football Bard's Tale Dragon Wars Civilization II Age of Empires I & II Total Annihilation Total Annihilation:Kingdoms Diablo Baldur's Gate Ultima V, VI, VII Railroad Tycoon II Roller Coaster Tycoon Warcraft Starcraft Descent I&II Alpha Centauri (only 'cause my name's in the manual as a beta tester. LOL!) Can't think of any more at the moment. Not much into games anymore because of lack of time. ------------------ <this space for rent> [This message has been edited by Dr of Dunk (edited March 11, 2000).]
