Tell me who you think is the best player in the draft by each position. Here are mine: Center- Loren Woods Power Forward-Kwame Brown Small Forward- Eddie Griffin Shooting Guard- Jason Richardson Point Guard- Kenny Satterfield ------------------ President of the Steve Francis, Jamal Crawford,Larry Hughes, and Charles Woodson fan club.
C- Eddy Curry PF- Kwame Brown SF- Joe Johnson SG- Jason Richardson PG- Jamal Tinsley ------------------
C-Woods PF-Brown SF-Griffin SG-Best NBA SG-Richardson;College-Forte PG-Tinsley ------------------ Never Underestimate the Heart of a Champion
Eddie Griffin has the best Talent in this draft. You guys should think about adding him to the list. Greg#3 RocketFan007 ------------------ "Break off the block like Maurice Green" --- Steve Francis President of the Moochie Norris fan club.
Eddie Griffin is very talented but he isn't a leader by any stretch of the imagination, especially compared to Shane Battier, who was the best leader in the country. As Seton Hall's best player, he led the team to squat and got into a fight with teammate, which killed any chemistry that they had. Griffin is a thug with talent while Battier is a first rate class act, who led his team to the championship. Griffin is very competitive but Battier will do anything to win, even if it means concentrating on the little things and giving all the credit to his teammates. Would Griffin do that?. Basically, that's why I'd rather have Battier over Griffin.
C -Woods PF-Woods if he has the lateral movement, White if not SF-Battier SG-Richardson PG-Richardson, I haven't seen anyone deserving of being an NBA PG. Tinsley will be the best played PG. Richardson wouldn't be a great PG, but I think he could penetrate on Tinsley all day. I haven't seen enough of the high schoolers and Griffin to rank. If Griffin is as good as the hype or ballpark (likely), I'd have him as the best PF,SF. I like a draft with Curry, Diop, Chandler, Woods, and Gasol. ------------------
I have seen Brown, and he looked stupendous in 10 minutes of play, but I can't judge athletism, strength, and skills in 10 minutes against high schoolers. I will not rank someone I haven't seen. I haven't seen much of White either, but what I saw was against a better reference. Did you see Woods' junior year? I saw him three times then and was amazed by his reaction time, ability to stay with the play when outmuscled, and efficency. This year, he was good, but his team was so much better he got lost a few times as Arizona is loaded with a pack of wanna be Mobleys. ------------------
I'm not doubting Woods' talent, I just don't think teams will draft him to be a power forward. ------------------ [This message has been edited by tacoma park legend (edited June 04, 2001).]
TPL, I don't think he'll be drafted as a PF. It would be a good place for him during the rookie (and maybe more) campaign to hide his glaring weakness (weight) some and give him an advantage (height). ------------------
