What are some good places for chocolate cake in Houston for a birthday? My supervisor's birthday is next week and it's my turn to get the cake. I know she likes chocolate cake, which I never buy.
The BEST cake in Houston is DESSERT GALLERY http://www.dessertgallery.com/ I recommend the Old Fashion Diner cake, best cake EVER imo.
I don't know exactly what you are looking for. Desert Gallery is a fine option, but a bit expensive. But if you don't want to spend $50 for a plain 9 inch cake, go to Central Market. They make plain old fashioned sheet cakes, but done right with genuine buttercream frosting instead of that crappy cheap oil based stuff that most supermarkets use. Alternately, if you are looking for something a bit more snooty and artistic, Andre's makes some tasty cakes.
Dessert Gallery is the best cake, but it is expensive. If you wanna score big points with your boss, it is the way to go, but if you don't want to spend a lot, it's probably not the way to go.
http://www.worldcateringhouston.com/cakemenu.html Best cakes in Houston. Italian Creme can't be beat . . . but the Latino Americano is fantastic for chocolate. She can do any shape, size, topping, etc . . .
From what I can remember it is a little cheaper, but I could be wrong. But Dessert Gallery is way better imo, not even close.
The cake at Chocolate Bar is huge...I think it costs around $10/slice. You can see the size of the cake in the link I posted above.
Thanks, everybody. I am going to stop by the Dessert Gallery and Central Market for a slice of each. If the quality is that amazing at Dessert Gallery, I'll fork out the extra bucks. Both of them are close to work(Galleria area).
