In your opinion, what restaurant has the best dessert menu or maybe the single best dessert in town? Excluding places like the Chocolate Bar which are primarily for dessert.

Cheesecake Factory's dessert ranges between 900 to 1,300 calories for a single slice. Their main course meals can get as high as 2,300 calories. They really try their best to avoid showing their food's nutritional values if you ask to see it at any restaurant.

Their food does taste great but I feel so toxic after eating it. I get the worst heartburn that lasts until the following day. That said I think if you're going to a restaurant to eat, you should know that you're going to get a waste of calories more than cooking at home.

It's not a restaurant but I'm partial to going to Sugarmamma's on South First and getting some of their chocolate chip cookies or a James Brown cupcake. I'll go eat at a restaurant then drop by there for dessert if I'm still hungry. Best cookies and cupcakes in Austin.

Yeah. This is a special occasion, and we've been there too many times.

Ruggles Bakery in the Village has good dessert, and is semi-casual. I hear all the Ruggles restaurants have good dessert, but that's the only one I've been to.

I don't know, but they have some decent food.

Seems like everything is called "Hollywood" something around there.

this. although i dont know if you're looking for something really unique and creative, because this is neither, its just a giant pan with freshly baked cookies and vanilla ice cream on top. Very simple, very VERY good. Probably serves 10 people or 5 determined guys (after dinner)

FYI, Grand Lux is owned, operated, and actually has some of the same menu items as Cheesecake Factory. That's why their desserts are pretty good.

Also, despite the fact that its a Landry's restaurant now, the Grotto still has some darn fine desserts.

I'm going to be cheap here and say Dairy Queen. I love the chocolate cover cones. Yum.
