I've been seriously injured at an establishment(violent attack; stabbed, at a night club) and would like to pursue a lawsuit. I want to find the BEST personal injury lawyer in houston possible. I believe a Law FIRM may be even better than a LAWYER. Also I wanted to ask how I can find more information about them such as track record etc etc. Something that'll convincingly give one firm an edge over the other. Thank you!!

That would probably be where the lawyers argue. My feeling is, there should not be knives allowed inside clubes- hence tighter security. Whatever that may be. This should have never happened.

That is horrible that you were stabbed. My sincere condolences and best wishes for your speedy recovery.

That being said, it's total bull**** to sue a nightclub. A civil lawsuit against your attacker is completely justified, but suing an establishment (and outside of strip clubs there are no metal detectors anywhere) is chicken****.

Unless you are only suing for medical bills that you cannot afford...then I understand.

Regardless of our difference of opinion, I do hope you get better.

ya i'm going to have to agree.

I've never seen a metal detector in a club before...

If I owned that club and got sued by you, I would be pretty pissed off.

Sue the stabber for everything he has, but leave the club alone.

I feel bad for your situation but you are a part of what is really wrong with our society. It's always someone's fault...did you ever stop to think, really think, that bad things just happen and someone isn't always responsible for compensating you financially? Why aren't you suing the person that stabbed you? I supose next you'll want to sue the knife manufacturer? What about the manufacturer of the car he drove to the club?

I'm really sorry for your situation but give me a break. You are so much of what I hate about America.

For your information they never caught the people. They ran away and got away before the club was able to seal its doors. So as much as I would like to, I cant sue them. If I could I would like to throw them in jail as well. But thats not in my control.. Furthermore, I used to frequent clubs often in the Atlanta area. Nearly every club there, both nice ones and semi-ghetto ones, all have metal detectors. The couple times I've been in dallas, They also had metal detectors. Just because nobody has them here doesnt mean they shouldn't. Obviously this wouldnt have happend if they did and metal detectors would have also prevented this incident. If metal detctors aren't present, clubs should have a routine pat-down. Routine patdowns is also common in other cities(such as new york city clubs I've been to). The fact is, they had neither a detector nor a patdown present.

I've always wondered why they dont have some sort of security measure in Houston clubs when you hear stories of incidents ALL the time. A friend said 'it might be because itll give off the image that the place is dangerous'. But just like airports, I believe it would actually make it safer, not more dangerous, but I could see what he meant by that. Also from what I have learned in political science, change never happens unless people are forced to. Why would someone invest in a metal detector machine or anything else if they didnt have to. How many more people have to get hurt of even die for them to take this seriously? Also a deranged psycho running around with a knife at a macy's and someone getting hurt, is not the same as a knife attack at a club. A Macy's would not be liable because it is 'unforseeable' and truly random act, but a place like a club, given the setting; dark and with alcohol, something like this is much more likely, and common.

Anyways, all of this is left up to the lawyer to argue, I am no lawyer. But I feel I have a good case and deserve the right to pursue this case. Changes must be made. If you guys can offer me any help, That would be great! Thanks.

Yet you seek monetary damages when all you want is for them to have metal detectors? Where is the correlation (sp)?

And FYI...I live in Dallas (and have lived in Ausin and Fort Worth) and there are not metal detectors anywhere.

Sounding like you just want to profit off your misfortune to me. Unless you give a reply that makes you look like less of a scumbag

I almost died you @#$@%@. I underwent a two hour operation and will have a scarr over a foot long for the rest of my life. If I had it my way none of this would have ever happened. How about you get stabbed and see how forgiving you'll be. Responsiblity must be taken in things like this, including partial-responsibilities.

I cant believe you guys are arguing this. Are you saying you this couldnt have been preventable? at all? Are you saying it is totally outrageous to think crimes like this may happen at places like clubs? Are you saying an establishment isn't(or shouldn't be) responsible for the safety of its customers? Are you saying you wouldn't prefer extra security at clubs or other nightlife locations? Are you saying I shouldn't be able to walk up into a club without thinking twice if I'm going to shot or stabbed tonight?

Yeah I hate people who sue over outrageously stupid things as much as the next guy. This whole thing could have been prevented in so many ways, and some of that could have been by the club, therefore I really believe the club holds some responsibility.

I'm sure you'd be pissed, but a club/and its owner would be in deeper **** if someone died there. But the thing is, I wouldn't be suing the club. nearly all clubs have some sort of insurance for this kind of thing. I'd be sueing the insurance.

This case sounds weird to me. You just randomly got stabbed or what? I'm sure there was an altercation or it was someone you knew or someone that knew you at the very least you should know what this person was wearing and might have even looked like.

You should report this and try to find the attacker. Also ask the manager at the club to see if there's any surveilance cameras and go after the person that stabbed you not the club.
