Tough question for me. I tend to like just about anything from Nobuo Uematsu, although Final Fantasy 6 and 7 stand out in my mind as probably his best work; I also like his music from FF4, FF7, and FFX, just not as much. The Xenogears music is also way up there IMO; ironically, those 3 games (FF6, FF7, and Xenogears) are also 3 of my favorite games of all-time. For me, it seems like there is some sort of connection between great music and great games. Along with those games, I also like some of the music in the Kingdom Hearts games, although mostly just the two theme songs by Utada Hikaru ("Simple and Clean" and "Passion," including the instrumental versions of each song). In recent years, I've grown to like the music in two of Konami's bigger franchises, Silent Hill and Metal Gear Solid (Snake Eater was a great theme song for MGS3). Of course, there's always the classic theme songs from Mario and Zelda games which are also quite nice. Probably a couple other games I'm forgetting, but those are some of the more memorable ones I can think of at the moment. So what are some of your favorites?
Chrono Cross is by far my favorite all-time videogame soundtrack. I also love the music in pretty much every Guilty Gear game... if I had to pick one, probably Guilty Gear X2 was the best overall.

Agree and I'll add GTA III as well. Definitely agree, especially in Halo 2 Ninja Gaiden's score has some great moments as well. And I don't care what anybody says, I like the compilations in the MVP and Burnout series.
19. I might be in a minority here, but now that I think about it, I liked some of the music in that old Dune game for the PC. Not the strategy one (Dune 2), but the one that was kind of adventure-like. Might have to see if I can find some midis or something from it to see if it was as good as I remember it.
Tops of all time would be Chrono Trigger, followed by FF6, Zelda: Link to the Past, FF7. For PC games I'd go with the King's Quest series (5 and 6).
