FYI, "score" refers to the collective body of composed music for the movie. Individual pieces of music are known as "cues". If you were going to rank a film score, you'd take the entire body of music into account. I really like the scores to The Incredibles and Catch Me If You Can. The music in all the Lord of the Rings movies was excellent as well.

Mancini didn't do the Godfather. That was an Italian composer named Nino Rota. If you're going to talk Mancini, you have to go with the Pink Panther.
The Fountain, not even close. Clint Mansell is a genius. Requiem For a Dream another of his finest work.
The Pink Panther James Bond theme music (and some of the songs) Conan the Barbarian The Last American Virgin (soundtrack - not really a film score - but a nice collection of 80's music) The Last of the Mohicans
This is worth watching if you haven't seen it. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/O61Do03ZCjw&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/O61Do03ZCjw&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
I second the Last of the Mohicans. Music was so powerful that they didn't even need dialogue for the last 10 minutes of the movie.
LOTR Jurassic Park There is a track on Da Vinci Code that is awesome too, i think its called chevaliers or something like that Gladiator is great as well
I hate to be predictable, but in just about every category, the following is the greatest film of all time, including score. Every time I hear it, I want to run off and fight somebody: <object width="320" height="265"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/RuxHLzwlDY4&hl=en&fs=1&color1=0x3a3a3a&color2=0x999999"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/RuxHLzwlDY4&hl=en&fs=1&color1=0x3a3a3a&color2=0x999999" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="320" height="265"></embed></object> This related film score is also great, though in a different, sad way, which is appropriate for perhaps the saddest movie I've ever seen: <object width="320" height="265"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/F4zkZ9q9k1Y&hl=en&fs=1&color1=0x3a3a3a&color2=0x999999"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/F4zkZ9q9k1Y&hl=en&fs=1&color1=0x3a3a3a&color2=0x999999" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="320" height="265"></embed></object>
