Hey guys its been a while since I've seen one of these. Just wanted everyones opinion on the best local sports talk we have right now. Personally I think Charlie Palilio, although cocky, really knows his stuff and is much better then his counterparts during that time frame.
Charlie is aight, but he is so dry and boring that he puts me to sleep. I think that Matt and Adam on 610 probably has the best show. Knowledge, opinion, and entertainment. Though Davies and Dukes have gotten alot better since their change to the PTI-like format.
No love for Jerome Solomon and Jorge Vargas on 97.5? (I don't know, that's the only Houston Sports Station I can pick up.)
I only listen during 7-8 (occasionally switching between Dean & Rog) & 5-6 on my commute and a little sometimes during my lunch break. CP gets my vote but I wish I could listen to Matt and Adam more.
palillo by far at least he doesnt like to hear himself talk or stick to some point that he knows and everyone knows is incorrect. I have heard that matt jackson get owned by facts and still try to argue his point because he cannot admit 'i am wrong' it hurts to listen to ( happens all the time) and I quickly change back to 790 Also cant stand the contrarian announcer who thinks its cool to pick the underdog or sleeper team then go on to a 0 - 100 record some of these jokers know about as much about sports as frank billingsley does about weather ( no I didnt say makeup)
I'd go in order: Matt & Adam Charlie Palillo Monsters of the Midday (Deluca & Lopez) Rich and Marc I don't really listen to the morning shows because they are on too damn early for me.
all the local sports radio personalities are boring and repetitive. Of the lot, I can stand Matt and Adam the most and Marc V the least.
I've been giving Solomon and Vargas a listen lately. Solomon had me cracking up when they were making fun of the Colorado coach for his outburst about the letter complaining about the players only getting 2 weeks off instead of 3. Solomon makes the point that Barnett gave them 3 weeks and they had been to some bowls and Vargas counters with the scandals that happened there including using strippers for recruiting. Solomon suddenly blurts out "well strippers lead to victory" and then he goes on about how what will entice a player to come to a school more and says "there's only so much time you can spend showing a kid the biology department."
i pick matt and adam first, then charlie second. the reason i chose matt and adam is because they by far in my opinion go out of their way the most to talk rockets(plus they do postgame shows).
Is there anything worse than marc and rich??? Not so much Marc (he at least has reasoning to his opinions) but Rich is absolutely terrible (he has no facts/stats backing his opinions). My vote for best goes to Charlie
Charlie is the best period. Mark and Rich and Davies and Dukes are tied for the worst. Rich Lord has regressed so much. It is like he doesnt even like sports anymore. I think the last time I heard him he was saying that Chris Webber had to pay the Sixers 40 million dollars to get bought out of his contract.
