after looking at the remaining FA's, and checking all of the center's and PG's stats for last season...yes all of them and my eyes hurt...here are the FA's that seem to fit our needs best:

    PG
    1. mike james - 27 mpg, 41% FG, 37% 3's, 1.19 stl, 4.2 ast, 1.5 TO, 9ppg, +11 EFF

    2. damon jones - 24 mpg, 40% FG, 36% 3's, .37 stl, 5.8 ast, 1.26 TO, 7 ppg, +10 EFF

    3. charlie ward (as a starter for the knicks last year) - 24 mpg, 44% FG, 42% 3's, 1.34 stl, 5ast, 2 TO, 9 ppg, +7 EFF

    4. derek fisher - 21 mpg, 35% fg, 29% 3's, 1.26 stl, 2.3 ast, 7 ppg, +6.6 EFF

*i left out hudson because reports say JVG is not interested in him. after looking up his stats i see why (not a good defender, too many TO's)

    C
    1. chris mihm - 17 mpg, 48% fg, 66% ft, 5.4 reb, .83 blk, 2.7 pf, 6.3 ppg, +8.8 EFF

    2. michael doleac - 14 mpg, 43% fg, 86% ft, 3.7 reb, .5 blk, 2 pf, 4.5 ppg, +6.3 EFF

    3. steven hunter - 13 mpg, 53% fg, 33% ft, 2.9 reb, 1.24 blk, 1.7 pf, 3.2 ppg, +5 EFF

    4. keon clark (looking at career stats because he missed last year with injury)- 22 ppg, 50% fg, 65% ft, 5.9 reb, 1.6 blk, 2.9 pf, 8.2 ppg, + 4.5 EFF

    5. chris anderson (dropped him to #5 because he is undersized) - 14 mpg, 44% fg, 59% ft, 4.2 reb, 1.61 blk, 1.7 pf, 3.4 ppg, +7 EFF

*i left ostertag off the list because we probably can't afford him.

By the way the FA market has looked so far, looks like its going to be real hard trying to find good deals.

you might be right about mihm. he is a RFA, so we would have to offer WAY too much to scare off the celtics from matching.

i was really only half joking.

mihm is clearly serviceable... puts in a yeoman's effort every night. i live in boston. when he got traded from cleveland to the celts i kept wondering why they didn't start him. but it shows how much i know because blount turned out to be the better player.

Keon could provide a running center when rockets need to run... although they never did so, since JVG came here.

NBA centers should weigh more than 200 lbs., don't you think?

it looks like we are getting fisher afterall. call me crazy but i would rather have mike james. he has finals experiance now too. play's great D, can shoot, can be a play maker, and doesn't turn the ball over.

best of all he is young and can grow with M&M ;)

We could probably get Steven Hunter for the Minimum @ less then 1M or a little more. He was like 5th in the NBA in blocks per 48 mins last year.

Hunter is a Piston lifer - and big in Brown's system... but James is very underrated - and played well as the starter in Boston - I wonder what the knock is on him (or is he already going somewhere else)

I agree. I like James as well. As for his age, he's 29 y/o. He's not real young, but he's right in the middle of his prime years. He really stepped his game up last year & seems poised to take it to the next level. He's a restricted FA, so we'd need to make arrangements with Detroit to sign him. Come on CD, make us proud.
