No musicals, concert movies, or documentaries about real bands.

The Blues Brothers – John Belushi…enough said. Not to mention cameos from James Brown, Cab Calloway, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Chaka Khan, John Lee Hooker, and the entire Blues Brothers band. Great soundtrack too.

The Commitments – Totally nails what it’s like playing in a band with more than 6 people, especially when some of them are female…….. Dealing with all the egos and personality quirks. 2 great soundtracks as well.

This Is Spinal Tap – Great documentary…or, if you will….a ROCKumentary. Too many quotable lines to mention.

That Thing You Do – One of the most underrated music movies ever. Title song is catchy as hell.

I just watched that movie last night. I love the soundtrack to the movie, one that I liked when it came out and I can still listen to today and enjoy it. Are you Shades ima? :)

Mr. Holland's Opus - Maybe not technically about music, but music is a huge part of the story line

Drumline - I am the only person I know who loves this movie.

School of Rock - The overall douchiness of Dewey's bandmates was off the charts. Especially the guy who replaced him.
