Red bull, the first one to break into the mainstream (I don't think Jolt counts). I like the tart, sour taste. The only thing that sucks is the price. But I like the fact that they send out promotional people to offices and such and give out free cans. I've encountered them 3 times in totally different places. Not really related, but Red Bull sponsors some cool musical events that I'm into. More along the lines of dance music/rave nights and breakdancing stuff. Events where no other major companies would even pay attention to. Coming close is Rock Star. It tastes kind of close to Red Bull (more of a cherry taste, hard to explain), and I can find a 16 oz can for $1.50. They even have 24 oz cans now for a little more than $2. I don't like Monster at all. It's not bad, the taste is just...meh.
I used to prefer Red Bull. When I was 21, i got into the whole Red Bull + Vodka thing, but then I realized it tasted like ****e. I like the Sobe Adrenaline Rush (Sobe No Fear is terrible). Mt. Dew AMP is alright -- but I don't really feel much of a punch. Rock Star is aite... My favorite now is Full Throttle, which Coca Cola produces. Coca Cola Blak doesn't taste as bad as you'd think, but I don't like Coffee, so it aint somehtin i normally drink.
has to be SObe No Fear. True story... I used to drink a can of Sobe to pull all-nighters. One night I drank 2 cans as i was tired, but had to finish up a thesis presentation. I felt good until about 1-2 am when some cricket or whatever got into my bedroom somehow. I could hear the annoying screeching noise loud and clear. Funny thing was every time I got up to find the pest, the noise would stop immediately, as if on cue. This happened several times. Finally, around 6am I was pissed off enough. I decided to listen for a while to see if I could pinpoint where the bloody insect was. After a minute or two, it dawned on me that the screeching noise was my mouse cable scratching against the desk every time i moved the mouse. For some wierd reason, I could hear it really loud and clear, like someone put a mic to it. I switched to coffee. Wierd times at TAMU
Taurine (most prevalent chemical found in energy drinks along with caffeine) can really cause you to crash. Good for a pre workout drink, but stay away from energy drinks if you are pulling all-nighters. Cocaine on the other hand contains alot of the stuff you find in ritalin, much better for those looking to study.. and post come-down depression should keep you from falling asleep. That's just my expert opinion.
In this household we swear by Lo-Carb Monsters, all the way. Taste great and get you pretty hyped up.
I actually really like Fresche, love it with vodka, much better than redbull, made that switch a few months ago.
this is more of a supplement but has anyone had Redline? it's in a small bottle at my gym and while it costs almost $3...it keeps me going for a good 8 hours easy
