According to this article from cbs sportsline gerald wallace of the bobcats said that tmac and yao "might be the best 1-2 combination since M.J. and Pippen."...thoughts??? http://sportsline.com/nba/story/10468935
He's probably saying that cause MJ is the president. j/k Seriously, as great as Tmac and Yao is right now, Kobe and Shaq will still be better at this point until Tmac and Yao wins a ring together.
he's crazy. t-mac and yao have combined for zero playoff series wins. kobe and shaq won 3 rings, and stockton and malone had some playoff success. calling t-mac and yao the best duo since jordan and pippen is just hilarious
weren't Pippen and Jordan secret lovers? I swear they had that as their ringtones for each other? Or am I just mixing them up with a T-Mobile commercial?
non-sense, i don't think Yao will agree with that either. yao and t-mac are good, but they havn't reached shaq-kobe's level yet. shaq and kobe got 3 rings together, not even to mention mj and pippen's 6 rings together. yao and t-mac havn't got passed the first round in the playoff yet.
Tony "I play PG but don't make anyone better + Eva Langoria is overrated just turn on a Telemundo soap opera to see a real woman" Parker?
I believe his comment was more about "here and now." Its easy to laugh at a statement like this given that all we've seen so far is injuries and a "yet to reach prime" Yao. Right now Tmac is in the best health he has been in for a long while, and Yao is at/near his prime. This is the best time for these guys to really dominate, as injuries on either part and/or Yao's inexperience isn't slowing down their game as much as we've seen up till now. So Tmac & Yao now > Tmac and Yao before Given that, I would agree with the comment that the two *might* be the best combo since Mike and Scottie
Kobe and Shaq are the next best duo to MJ and scottie since. Duncan has Parker and Ginobli. If the Rockets win a title with these two then they will be the second best duo since MJ/pip.
Next MJ and Pippen? Let's win some championships first. They're about 6 titles short from any type of comparison to them.
Wallace probably got caught up in the moment and wasn't thinking, he probably thinks that Shaq and Kobe are better. MJ/Scottie is probably what came to mind right way. So it's understandable. But you have to admit, if the duo in Houston does pan out, I believe they probably will be, I will cut my own foot off, if Yao/T-Mac together don't win at least 2 championships in the next 5 years. I wouldn't agree with whole Duncan and Boozer comparisons...that would be like saying both Wallaces are better than Stockton and Malone, because they have won more championships. Duncan and Parker are better than Barkley and K.J. Basketball is team sport and there are other factors that go into winning, not just two superstars, those teams that won had other things in place, while Houston is just getting to the point right now, while both players are entering their prime. So it remains to be seen.
