this is the best draft scenario for the rox:

13.Richard Jefferson-the next shawn marion, he is also a great defender, shot blocker, and rebounder, not to mention he can shoot.an all star for sure.

18.Radmovic-could be the next pedrag or dirk. another shooter that will help against the new rule changes

23.Ken Johnson-a great defensive player and presence at 6-11

I would consider that incredible especially if the Yugo player slips to 18. The Rockets would improve significantly in 2 areas- SF and Defense in the paint.

I would have to agree with hitman21.
Richard Jefferson is an upgrade from Shandon, but an All-Star? I would have to agree with you on Radmovic and Johnson.

ok, so jefferson is a stretch as an all-star, but he'll be an ABOVE average player

    #13 - Richard Jefferson 6-7 215 SF
    #18 - Brendan Haywood 7-0 270 C
    #23 - Ousmane Cisse 6-8 240 PF

BTW Marion was already an established scorer in the college ranks. Richardson will have to develop his offensive game.

Trade 13 and 23 to move up and take Woods. Then with the next pick take VRad if he is available if not take TRock.

    Woods and TRock

    13. SF Rodney White (or Vladimir Radmanovic or Joe Johnson)
    18. PF Ousmane Cisse
    23. trade or SG Joseph Forte

All the franchise low post prospects will be long gone by pick 13. An all star capable SF should still be around. Drafting a SF here means no T Mo later.

At 18, the Rock could take a flier on Cisse or they could get a more known low post player, like Haywood. Since Haywood et al have no upside, Cisse might be the chance worth taking. I mean 10+ blocks per game in HS is unreal.

There is no chance that Rodney White will be on the board at #13. Sorry.

You could be right but ...

Here is the list lottery teams and their current 3s:

    Washington - Richard Hamilton (2/3)
LA Clippers - Lamar Odom (3) & Darius Miles (2/3)
    Atlanta - DerMarr Johnson (3)
    Chicago - Ron Mercer (2/3) & Marcus Fizer (3/4)
Golden State - Antawn Jamison (3/4)
    Vancouver - Shareef Abdur-Rahim (3)
    New Jersey - Keith Van Horn(4D,3O) & Kenyon Martin(4O,3D)
    Cleveland - need a 3
Detroit - Corliss Williamson (3/4), Joe Smith (3/4)
    Boston x 2 - Antoine Walker (4/3), Paul Pierce (2/3)
Seattle - Rashard Lewis (3), Ruben Patterson (2/3)

Here is a list of first round SFs:

    Eddie Griffen (3/4)
    Tyson Chandler (3/4)
    Rodney White (3/4)
    Joe Johnson (2/3)
    Shane Battier (3)
    Pau Gasol (3/4)
    Vladimir Radmanovic (3/4)
    Rishard Jefferson (2/3)
    Gerald Wallace (3)
    Terrence Morris (3)

    Analysis:

Clippers, Atlanta, Golden State, Vancouver, New Jersey, and Seattle have studs at the 3 and should not draft a 3.

Washington and Chicago could upgrade their 3 but their biggest need is 5 and should be in a position to draft one.

This leaves New Jersey, Cleveland, Detroit, and Boston. Of these teams, only Cleveland is desperate for a 3. New Jersey in order needs a 5, 2, and 3. Detroit in order needs a 5, 4, and 3, and will take the best scorer on the board. Boston needs a 1, 5, 3, and 4. (IMO Troy Murphy is a lock with their second pick, since his outside shot compliments Walker's low block game.)

Worst case, four 3s will be taken before the Rocks pick. Best case, one.

Even if four 3s are taken, I can still see teams chosing "lesser" talent and leaving White on the board for the Rocks.

    Griffen is better.
Chandler has the HS mystique and could have a higher ceiling.
Joe Johnson is a better open court player and can play the 2.
Shane Battier is a solid citizen and ideal team player.
Pau Gasol could be the next Dirk Nowitzki.
Vladimir Radmanovic has had great work outs, which has obtained "buzz" status.
