Such raves on us being such a great defensive team, but the offense looks like street ball. Where did Steve pick up this crappy play? This one-on-five b.s, shooting the last shot while everyone stands around, etc. JVG better start working on the offense because it looks like crap.

We are not by any means the best defense, but we may very well be the worst offense.

I don't think our offense is silly - I think our players play some silly offense at times.

EVEN Yao is starting to drive me crazy. With his no hustle play, and dumb decisions. Just like SF man we have a couple of lovable dummies.

That one play where Yao just stood there waiting for the ball to slowly bounce out and then Bibby ran across the court to get it. That was pathetic. AND i hate all the misses from 1-3 feet out!

our defence is just as streaky as our offence. Its great that we have these big bursts and can storm out against any team in the league, but is damn frustrating to watch them piss it away in the 3rd or 4th quarter when it counts.

With CATO out, ROX' defense sucked. Where is the defense? What I saw are fouls only.

    JVG's offense always surely sucked.

I have said it all year long.... JVG's east coast, Knicks style brand of boredom (minus even the thuggery) ball will NEVER fly out west.

Hey, I admire JVG, even like him in my own sick way (he is afterall, a Rocket now), but Brown (amongst others) was the better man for this particular coaching job.

Can't even remember who the dude/troll/insider was, but his thread about the Rockets only winning one game the rest the way, not to mention JVG getting the axe is starting to appear, uhn..... profound.

Indeed, the Rockets are a mess at the very worst time. AND, don't even bring up injuries. We have been SO much more lucky in that regard than years past, or other teams this year.

yao is starting to learn from steve and cat. that scares me. he argues with refs on every call, and he is starting to make worse decisions than he did last year.

I honestly thing this label of the offense being crappy coz of Francis and Mobes is unfair... Its JVG, We had a pretty decent offense past few years, agreed we didnt win the games all the time, but it wasnt low scoring/slow it down type of play.

On another note, COME ON BACK CATO...

I wouldn't say that he actually "argues" every call. Most of the time when he get a foul call, he puts up his hands and just says "What?". The guy argues the more obvious fouls that the refs shouldn't have missed if they were paying even half-attention. And i dont see any problem with Yao complaining to the refs as long as he knows he can't and shouldn't argue every call. Its good that he speaks up sometimes because the guy gets robbed of a LOT of foul calls.

If we just look at the stats, we do score more points than the first half of the season, but we gave many more points along the way. So I think we are doing about the same offensive wise, but much worse on the defensive end.

IMO, the reason for the defense let-down is due to JVG's rotation management. When you play someone 40min a game the whole year, they got to have dead legs now by the 3rd, or 4th qtr, they are just tired. Check the foul distributions this season, I believe we were doing fine in the 1st half, but have many more fouls than the opponents in the 2nd half. People here complaining about the refs, but this is a typical sign of faitue. We have lost more and more games in the 3rd & 4th qtr due to tired legs.
