What is the best detail shop in Houston? I heard Car Spa in midtown is good , but not sure if it is touch free. I have a black car , so I need a mirror black shine!
cleverly disguised racist thread about the detail shops all having "Hispanics" working there... you know... "stealing your jobs" or what not... *unless it's in a black neighborhood, then we're outnumbered...
If you want a mirror shine you should fine someone that does detailing on the side or is a mobile detailer. They usually charge a better rate and will come to you and do an amazing job. I have seem black cars look show room clean after some of these guys get the swirl marks out.
i concur. if i needed my car detailed, i'd get a private mobile detailer to come over and do it as opposed to going to a large detail shop.
How timely... last night while at a bar with my buddies, someone backed into my car... it was late at night and when we went to inspect my car - we saw no damage. this morning when i went to the gym, i saw scratches all along the backside of the car. i decided to get it repainted today and went to maaco. i was told it didn't need to be painted, but rather buffed and waxed. I was told to take my car to Splash car wash at Chimney Rock and Richmond. I dropped my car off at 1pm and just picked it up 30 minutes ago looks AMAZING... i highly recommend them.
The Car Masseuse on Dairy Ashford and Briar Forest goes off. Best Hand Car Wash is legit for just a wash (off Richmond) -- I've had 3 black cars. I went to those 2 places.
they are the hardest cars to detail. they show all the scratches , swirl mark, etc a car's surface may have.
TexasFight - How old is your car? I have a brand new car that someone decided to key bumper to bumper down my passenger side. I didn't want to go get it buffed out because I don't want to compromise the paint so early in its life. That, and there's always the possibility of someone coming back and doing it a second time. I keep going back and forth on if I should do it or not. I'm seeking other peoples stories to help me decide.
wow - sorry about that... my car is one year and 2 weeks old...they did a great job of not messing with the clearcoat on the car... i highly recommend them and i am very pleased with their work. they take about 3 hours to do it - so you'd need to leave it there for a while. i was told that the $150 i paid is their "lowest price" b/c i went on a tuesday afternoon. if you go on a fri/sat/sun - the price goes up... heard this from the guy at Maaco who told me to take my car there - so don't quote me on it if its not true
wash, vacuum, thorough interior cleaning, buff, and wax... they were able to get rid of the scratches from the asshat who hit my car on monday night - which was all i cared about.
Thanks. That makes me feel a lot better. Though I don't have $150 to shell out at the moment, I can definitely work up to it. And I'll either have to find someone in Austin just as good, or I'll have to make a day/long weekend out of going to see the family and getting the car done.
i'm sure there are just as good places in Austin. If you're in Austin at UT (or even if you're not) - you should start a similar thread at hornfans or shaggybevo and get some stories from people...
